Just takes a little research. The most difficult part is finding exactly where the bus departs in Kusadasi, they don't seem to have actual bus stops in Turkey!
Ephesus is very cool and well worth a visit. I think a guide at Ephesus might be worth the money. Another option from Kusadasi, is Sirence, which a very interesting town in the hills.
Thank you very much for this video. It's very helpful. I have a few questions if you wouldn't mind. How did you finally end up finding the bus stop in Kusadasi? Were you concerned at all with the schedule and timing of the return bus? My concern would be not knowing if the return bus has an erratic schedule or if it sometimes does not show up thus we would miss boarding our cruise. Did you happen to look into take the bus on to Mother Mary's house?
It’s a bit difficult to give you instructions here on how to find the bus stop but here is a link to a map I’ve created that you should be able to download drive.google.com/file/d/1-RZOpdioXUz_ZOAO4I48WcPgzUeGQ1Oj/view?usp=sharing If you have your own mapping app (or Google maps) the GPS co-ordinates are 37.85650, 27.26387. It's a 1 km walk and should take about 20 minutes. The buses run almost continuously throughout the day about every 10 to 15 minutes in summer and 15 to 20 minutes in winter so I wasn’t worried at all about getting back although it was a late departure with all aboard at 19:30. We had time to go back to the ship, grab a bite to eat and then go off again for a walk to Pigeon Island. Being very generous if you allowed and hour and a half each way and three hours at Ephesus that’s six hours overall and if you got off by 8 am (always be one of the first off!) you’d be back by 2 pm. As far as I am aware there is no public transport to Mother Mary’s house so you’d have to take a taxi. Hope that helps. Let me know if the link works or doesn’t.
Sadly there's absolutely nothing I can do about that. I have never understood why TH-cam puts loads of adverts on some videos and hardly any on others. It's something that I have no control over.
We have been to Kusadasi on cruises twice in the last 10 years, doing tours both times. This is an interesting alternative.

This video is beyond helpful
Pleased to hear that. Thanks for watching.

It's likely that we'll find ourselves in Kusadasi on another cruise at some point so I'll check out Sirence. Thanks for the suggestion.
