This rendition is particularly intense, partly because his previous performance in Singer 2017 had not been as well received as his others, and he needed this one to be exceptional to stay in the competition. (He won this round, unsurprisingly!) He’s a big fan of Lara Fabian and a duet with her is hopefully in the offing, at one of the upcoming Igor Krutoy concerts, I believe. Every day I have to hear a few songs from Dimash, it's a daily obsession. The great thing about all this is that he is a real warm person, next to the stage. I compare him to DaVinci or Michelangelo. Once in era or eon, if you will. I just do not believe that for a second that he should be compared to anyone in ability or execution, he is so far beyond anyone I have heard regardless of genre of music, no one is even close. I believe the proof is in the reactions to him. Listeners from all walks of life, cultures, ages, musical affinities, etc. having their souls and hearts touched without knowing the language of the song is verifiable evidence of his position. Using the American acronym GOAT (greatest of all time) is what Dimash is.
Once he tours America, he will really blow up in the West more..When they see him w/his original songs, playing multiple instruments like a rock drum solo, they'll be hooked (hope he can forget his bad experience with America's "World's Best" show ).
