The COOLEST thing about American Horror Story is that they give work to some actors that don't get a lot of work, some who've gotten "past their prime" some whose disabilities don't offer many opportunities, and often enough for me, the writing is good.
Honestly I think you could have included The Last of Us, for horror and suspense. Good acting, compelling story, I loved the video game as many did, very popular...
I would definitely recommend Penny Dreadful (great acting, fantastic period setting, interesting reimagining of some of the classic monsters along with new characters), maybe the first few seasons of True Blood (though maybe more supernatural soap opera than straight horror), and maybe even the first 5 seasons of Supernatural.
All great options!! I just recommended supernatural and penny dreadful in a recent video so I did not want to duplicate too many and sound repetitive. My wife was addicted to True Blood.
Penny Dreadful was absolutely AMAZINGLY deliciously good. Eva Green's possession performance on the table was multiple award worthy. I wish they'd bring it back. It was as good as AHS.
A note on The fall of the house of Usher, is not just one Poe story, but several, each chapter is inspired by a Poe short story with a round overall story as link.
The Outsider series from Stephen King was crazy dark and wonderfully directed by Jason Bateman as well as phenomenal acting. A lot better than most King adaptions.
Carnivale 2003-2004 was only two seasons but boy what a wonderful deep dive into the gothic through a narrative centred around a Depression Era travelling circus. Top stars, haunting cinematography, memorable characters created a mood for audiences, namely me that has never been matched although AHS nearly did.
I’m going to have to go back and finish this, you’re the second person to talk about Carnivale. I must of been in a bad mood because I don’t remember loving it as much but definitely giving it another shot now
@@angelicastallings1542 No it was cancelled. Given that it is from 2022, if it was going to be picked up by another network, it would have been by now. Not impossible but very likely, not coming back.
I just wanted to comment to say thank you for this amazing video and your channel as a whole. I'm sure it's tempting to AI generate scripts and have a synthesized voice read it. I appreciate your genuine commentary and takes. Never change, you have dedicated supporters!
Thank you I appreciate it!! I make my videos this way because I see sooooooooooooooooo many of those channels out there. Glad to see others enjoy it too :)
I’m loving ‘From’ but I’m worried it’s going to end before we gets any answers. Just like ‘Lost’. They fed us so many mysteries and so many clues aling the way and they ended up not meaning anything. It was infuriating!!! I really hope we get some of the loose ends tied up and there really is a reason for what they’re going through and why! If not, i’m going to be really pissed! I am loving watching the show, though, so I guess that’s what matters, right??
@@TheBingeList99 I liked outsider, but the following is more thriller than horror, I've heard a lot about twin peaks but never tried it, maybe I'll give the first episode a shot.
I try to stick to one’s I’ve watched and I have not seen Marianne but if it’s that good I’ll definitely have to check it out! But ash is amazing, Bruce Campbell is a treasure
I actually have not covered these two yet. SCD is great but I can honestly say I have not watched the Dracula series yet. I say yet because I just watched the trailer and added it to my watchlist.
I prefer American Horror Stories, where each episode is its own tale, over the original series. I lost interest in the serial nature of the original after Season 4 and now I only check in every other season or so. As with any anthology, some are better than others. I can see why people still watch.
I truly wished they gave Showtime "Let the Right One In" series a chance to grow more audience just like From before they decided to cancel it 😥 One of the best horror series I have seen. It deserved better. Same with Paper Girls which is one of the best sci-fi/time-traveling series
I have said this to a few people lately but I would love to understand these network execs someday cause they trash what feels like great options that have diehard followings and then keep around trashy reality shows and game shows for idk what reason. Really grinds my gears
@@TheBingeList99 💯It has to do with budgets and popularity. Some streaming services and networks only care about money and viewership rather than actual fans who enjoy storylines which I hate that part. They obviously want to seek any show to become a hit series so they can renew to draw more people to buy merchandise but... lack of marketing is a main result of lower viewership that leads to decisions to renew or cancel underrated series despite solid ratings to save the budget for expensive shows with low ratings but able to draw more eyes due to heavy marketing that costs them massively. That's a problem. Thankfully, From is on an unpopular streaming service once called Epix now changed to MGM+. At least I don't have to stress out about the amazing show being canceled anytime. The producer said it is supposed to be a five-season. Hopefully, they can renew for two more seasons. And I recently discovered the shows "My Brilliant Friend" and "Snowpiecer" last summer and Max and AMC+ continue to renew for four more seasons while many people still don't hear about it until eventually. I truly wish Showtime and Amazon did the same thing. I would be more than glad to take a lower budget than cancelled seres
Out of all the Point Horror authors I read in my teens, Christopher Pike was my favorite. I was excited for The Midnight Club to premiere. I hated it, did not finish the series and did not feel like it did any of his books justice. On the other hand, I really enjoyed the Fear Street Saga and thought the trilogy was a good homage to R.L. Stine's books.
Sadly AHS has gone so crap. I used to wait with bated breath for the new season teasers and now it’s just a woke satanic joke. It saddens me so much. I do not want to see shows deal with political crap from either side. Good Lord we can’t escape it.
After the covenant it seems only to be woke. Also I dislike when they start to re-use caracters and stories and makes arces in the series. Made it dumb.

Also Handsmaid Tale is one that is scary because, it could happen! Covid proved it! Sinner is another series that could be added too! Just so many good series!

Bitten was so good and underrated. As a big fan of the book series I was excited when I found out they made a series, just super bummed it got cancelled because there is a whole world of supernatural characters and creatures in the books and could have had the potential to be great if they had a chance to explore more
Ash vs Evil Dead was good for season one but horrible after. I found From to be too much of a rip-off of Lost to enjoy it much. Haunting of Hill House is awesome and Yellowjackets was very good!
God I love From. I gotta say though they gotta slow down on adding so many new plot lines and go back to answering some questions from the older plot lines. Like what happened to Boyd's supposed Parkinsons? But I still love it either way
How do people afford multiple streaming services? It drives me crazy that there are so many different services. Even TH-cam channels want us to join for just “$1.99 a month.” They don’t realize that if we add up every dang thing we have to subscribe to, it’s a fortune!
I feel like I can only think of a handful of shows where they maintain the quality and appeal all the way through. Even some of the best shows have episodes or seasons that just fall flat. It’s such a fine line to walk as a showrunner
You missed the most prophetic, reflective, horrific, well done and intelligent series out there: Black Mirror. Therefore, I can't trust your list 🤷♀If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend.
I like Black Mirror, it has a ton of great episodes and even some absolutely terrifying horror elements. But on the other hand there are tons of episodes that have no horror at all, so I don’t know if I’d classify the show as horror. More psychological Sci fi thriller but to each there own 🤷🏼♂️
I thought it had its moments but it was certainly more eerie and creepy than ever outright scary but I still think it’s that haunting and worth watching
I agree with much of the list...HOWEVER.. if you're going to use the word "genre" pronounce it correct...It's not a hard G sound....also why do people pronounce especially wrong too?? It's NOT pronounced "expecially" if you're going to narrate ...say the words right!
From misteries are much worse than Lost misteries. Lost at least gave you SOME answers before jumping to too many secrets. From doesn't give any fucking answers, it's just one dumb metaphisical mistery after another. It doesn't seem connected in any way. Lost was much more grounded in the fictional world it build
I just had Supernatural on another list that was posted a week or two before this so was trying not to be too repetitive and provide other options here!
I seriously don't think FROM is worth the hype... All 30 episodes they are just creating new problems and going in a circle with no much development in the storyline... All 5 works of Mike Flanagan are damn good... He just presents the idea in one season giving full satisfaction in the end not keeping us waiting for years From season 4 is releasing in 2026... they didn't leave much to keep us hooked for the next season...
Ash vs evil dead was modelled after Army of darkness and not the evil dead imo. That's why I stayed away from that show. Raimi got it right with evil dead 2, but he went overboard with army of darkness. Even with the video games they modeled it after army of darkness and not evil dead. Not a fan of the cringey one liners.
I actually had a backwards introduction into this franchise, I started with the show first and the movies second. But I thought the show was hilarious when I saw it, which is why I even watched the movies but humor is so subjective and I can see how the over the top stuff might not be for everyone, so I get it. I have not played any of the games though. Thanks for checking out the video though!

As a big fan of the book series I was excited when I found out they made a series, just super bummed it got cancelled because there is a whole world of supernatural characters and creatures in the books and could have had the potential to be great if they had a chance to explore more
I agree, could use a few more werewolves in the later seasons, but I still really enjoyed it!
Ash vs Evil Dead was good for season one but horrible after. I found From to be too much of a rip-off of Lost to enjoy it much. Haunting of Hill House is awesome and Yellowjackets was very good!
The Haunting of Hill House was one of the creepiest shows, I don’t normally get scared after the fact that one really had me creeped out.
The Midnight Club was really good and no 2nd season angers me😢
I’ve said this to a few people but it’s disappointing when they trash great options and keep garbage reality series running for 10 years 😑🤷🏼♂️🤦
God I love From. I gotta say though they gotta slow down on adding so many new plot lines and go back to answering some questions from the older plot lines. Like what happened to Boyd's supposed Parkinsons? But I still love it either way
It is a great show! And that's what I meant when I said I hope it doesn't get to Lost like and not answer lingering questions.
Pretty sure he was "cured" when he got the worms in his blood
i really liked Carnivale, even thought they rushed the ending.....
I actually started it and never finished it so I’ll have to finish it and see what you mean
@@TheBingeList99 It was never finished it. It got cancelled after the second season.
Smoke monster was explained just took 7 seasons
Fair lol
How do people afford multiple streaming services? It drives me crazy that there are so many different services. Even TH-cam channels want us to join for just “$1.99 a month.” They don’t realize that if we add up every dang thing we have to subscribe to, it’s a fortune!
It definitely adds up
Download an apk to watch all for free
from season one is on dvd at walmart for only 9.99
I rarely buy dvds anymore cause there are so many good streaming options nowadays
The Terror s1, Fortitude s1, Harper’s Island
I saw Harper's island back then and I agree with you it is good, haven't seen the other ones mentioned
From is good horror
I 100% agree! 😁🤜🤛😁
A real human being speaking? I can't believe it hahahaha
haha yeah I know its rare these days but just good ole human me here! 😂
I enjoyed evil until there were just too many episodes where the investigation has no investigate.... or conclusion....
I feel like I can only think of a handful of shows where they maintain the quality and appeal all the way through. Even some of the best shows have episodes or seasons that just fall flat. It’s such a fine line to walk as a showrunner
FROM
Outstanding choice
Penny dreadful, not being here is a sin
You are not the first to say that but I just recommended penny dreadful in a video I posted right before this one
FROMI is goat
Stellar options for sure!
More psychological Sci fi thriller but to each there own 🤷🏼♂️
@@TheBingeList99 Hummm...which episodes? Even the lighter ones always have some dark implications IMO....
Castle Rock is not scary at all, it's more like American Gothic. I'd replace it with Channel Zero or Masters of Horror (Also check out Bates Motel).
Sorry sorry this is just how I talk 😔
check out chapelwaite and the terror also
I never heard of chapelwaite I’ll have to check it out but really like the terror! 😁👍
@@TheBingeList99 chappelwaite was a hidden gem brilliant series
Hysteria
I seriously need to find time to watch this, it looks great and has some actors I really love in it
Resident Alien
I dont know if id consider Resident Alien a scary series but i do agree it is a great series
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that with more seasons we will see From put the pieces together
Yellow Jackets such a waste
Dang sorry you didn’t enjoy that one hopefully one of the other options works better for you
Where is Supernatural
I just had Supernatural on another list that was posted a week or two before this so was trying not to be too repetitive and provide other options here!
I seriously don't think FROM is worth the hype... All 30 episodes they are just creating new problems and going in a circle with no much development in the storyline...
All 5 works of Mike Flanagan are damn good... He just presents the idea in one season giving full satisfaction in the end
not keeping us waiting for years
From season 4 is releasing in 2026... they didn't leave much to keep us hooked for the next season...
Evil is literally just the failed exorcist fox series. Shamefully so
❤

American Horror Stories sucks. Beginning from 3rd season, the plots and motivation are so stupid! It's impossible to watch and make some sense of it.
