Got my CHICKEN! yesterday -- such a delight! Everything about it is amazing... couldn't wait and we played before dinner. It's going in my travelling 'boardgames' collection for game days! CHICKEN!
we rerolled more than once, because we thought it is more exciting and get to tak more risk after a while during the current turn. it seems a nice alternate version, and every time you get to decide wether to stop rerolling or take the risk. it seems to take longer per turn, but we think the game ends faster in total.
The music was too Hokien for me to really focus and the video went pretty fast! I do like some of the animation though and editing of the video. Our family purchased this game, but it isn’t fully easy to understand the rules just from the instructions they provide in the game.
How convenient that nowhere in the video do they reveal the consequences of busting. Come to find out, there are no consequences for busting. So why would you ever "chicken out?" You are literally just along for the ride with this game, since it offers no active choice with any strategic consequences. The game is flawed.
We thought that at first and it is what it seems from the instructions, but using a little imagination with the "the foxes break in and snatch all the chickens" phrase on the instruction, now what we do is that if you roll 3 or more foxes you have to go back to the start again! That makes it more fun and gives you a reason to chicken out some times 😅 When we want a quicker game then we change that rule to: you have to go back 3 spaces or the number of foxes if there are more instead of going all the way to the start. I hope this makes sense and helps you enjoy the game more, because I think that it's a fun game, even more with this little twist 😊
My group implemented a house rule that every fox counts as a -1 and you don't bust after 3 foxes. That gave a meaningful risk to rolling higher volumes of dice, and also added a fun ability for players to attempt to break even if their first roll had a lot of foxes.

I think you don’t move any spaces forward or you do move spaces backwards no?

Um, you lose all your chickens from the first roll. That's the consequence.
