He didn't really have sustained top speed like a receiver, but _nobody_ could catch him for the first twenty yards or so. He could accelerate and change directions like nobody else in the game.
Saw Barry live here in Detroit. Met him too. Trust me, seeing Barry play in person is a life changing experience. He was a god out there. GOAT and it's not close. No one else could do this.
What makes this even more amazing is that the Lions didn't have much of a passing game, so most of the time Barry was having to run against defenses looking for a run and having their best run defenders on the field. Had Barry had a quarterback who opponents had to fear, Barry would have had even greater success. I think he would have had five or six 2000 yd seasons. He sometimes didn't get the ball much in the second half of games because the Lions were usually way behind on the scoreboard. So his career numbers could have been even more amazing.
Play no. 20 - Barry did NOT run out of gas. He ran out of his shoe and couldn't cut. Earlier in the play, a Tampa defender tried to tackle him, and Barry left him holding his shoe.
Hey AB, just think, Barry got most of his yards on his own, imagine if he played for the Cowboys in the early 90’s with their offensive line. Barry would have flooded every team with his miraculous orange juice, the Cowboys could have won 3-4 Super Bowl’s in a row with Barry and Emmitt rotating in and out easily. 🔥🔥🔥🍊🍊🍊
I'm a Cowboys fan and I'll say if he played for them in the 90s, he would have had multiple 2,000 yard seasons. He and Walter Payton are my favorite backs.
I love the idea, but there’s no way they would have had both backs rotating lol. I still think Barry could play behind the current lions OL and be effective. But this isn’t college ball, there was no chance Emmitt were going to be on the same team.
@@mulbane agreed. Barry got drafted the season before Emmitt came out. If the Cowboys had gotten Barry first, there would have been no need for Emmitt.
Never seen 11 Cowboys on the rug... 51 just got he humility knocked out of him and Tony Cassius is still trying to find Barry. Emmit Smith on that play: "he made them look like straight up fools"
I saw Barry Sanders run for 80 yard touchdowns with one shoe on twice. I can't believe neither one of those runs are on here. I think he did both of them against Tampa Bay
5 steps from a dead stop to full speed. He wasn't the fastest, but he was the best at acceleration and deceleration in every dimension. I consider him the most elusive running back to ever live. edit: Rod Woodson blew out a knee on a Barry stutter step.
Barry's top speed wasn't the fastest in the league but his acceleration was better than anyone's. he went from 0-100 in no time flat and he could catch
It goes like this Jim Brown over 12000 9 years walter 16500 13 years Barry Sanders 13000 9 years hung up his cleets Emit smith 18000 + but had a offencive line to run behinde
I m a die hard Chicago Bears fan since 1984. I think Walter Payton is my favorite player ever and the second best running back ever. Barry Sanders was the whole Lions offense pretty much the his whole career. They had no offensive line, average QB s and recievers. They pretty much just handed it to Barry or passed it to him out of the backfield.
He’s the GOAT in my book!❤
"If there's a better runner, God has not made him yet." -Wayne Fontes, Lions Head Coach
He was fast and quick. And he did what he did and then just hands the ball to the official. I definitely think he was the goat.
He didn't really have sustained top speed like a receiver, but _nobody_ could catch him for the first twenty yards or so. He could accelerate and change directions like nobody else in the game.
The #9 spot... Is the MOST ELUSIVE, UP THE MIDDLE RUN... I'VE EVER WITNESSED. HE WAS ABSOLUTELY UNTOUCHED AND WEAVED HIS WAY THROUGH THAT LINE. WOW!!!
Barry is the 🐐
The crazy part is he probably had 30 or 40 different 1- yard runs that could have been on this list.
I love #1. Dude beat a whole defence. Like, ALL of them. He's a beast.
Saw Barry live here in Detroit. Met him too. Trust me, seeing Barry play in person is a life changing experience. He was a god out there. GOAT and it's not close. No one else could do this.
Oh, I believe Barry was 100% more electric in person.
I got to see him play twice, once in Detroit. There are no adjectives that can describe what he did. He was an artist on a field of fools.
Barry was da baddest of da bad. He's my GOAT for running back.🐐
BEST RB EVER!! #20
I remember seeing #1 actually happen on TV while watching the game.
He is my Running Back GOAT.

His hips on a swivel!
The only NFL jersey I ever bought and wear. Loved the way he played the game.
A beast for sure. ❤❤❤❤
Thank you God for allowing me to watch this man play from college through retirement. He was magnificent!!!
"THE" 🐐
Best running back I ever seen. He was unbelievable at times
Sanders balance was insane. Hed get hit and keep his footing every time

He had one of the smoothest & longest strides I've ever seen for someone who was only 5"9' tall .
Love your commentary, AB!
Much appreciated, bro!
I think some his 10 to 20 yard TD runs are the best. There is so little room to work but he finds creases everywhere.
"He pulled his hamstring." So many players did that chasing Barry, either for real or as an excuse for not catching him. 😂😂
Can you blame them? 😭😂
Cost Rod Woodson a knee ligament.
Need the white chocolate reaction!!!!!
We are talking about my homie Jason Williams of the Sacramento Kings correct? 😅😂
Yes sir lol.
Number 41 was his first carry of his NFL career
He has the best 2 yard run I ever saw
3 of those long TDs vs Minnesota were in the same game. They were down 3 scores in the 4th like 5 min to go. 3 Barry runs and game over.
Barry's full speed was amazing, but ive always thought it was his ability to get to full speed from 0 that was exceptional
Used to say he had literal rubber bands for tendons
Never seen 11 Cowboys on the rug... 51 just got he humility knocked out of him and Tony Cassius is still trying to find Barry. Emmit Smith on that play: "he made them look like straight up fools"

Ummm where is him LEGIT making Rod Woodson tear his ACL on here??

Barry at 45 yards out is hard to stop but anything longer than that they can catch him most of the time.
Highlight #20 Barry had lost a shoe thats why he got caught. One of the opposing linemen had pulled his shoe off trying to catch him.
51 tore his ACL on that play, I was there when they beat the cowboys in the playoffs
Tore his pride too
@@marcisikoff hell yeah he did lol
6:47 I’ve read that he lost a shoe
He always seemed to dominate my Bucs. You might want to check out the "A-train" Mike Alstott.
You should do Ken Griffey

11:10. Singletary was there being DUKED/EVADED!!. Barry was "different"....
Barry Sanders was NASTY! I disliked him as a NY Giants fan, but I had the utmost respect for him as a football fan.
5'10" 202
Watch his college highlights
Can do a reaction to Rob Gronkowski
Watch Walter!!!
And he never had afullback.
