Exactly what I thought. With all NCT especially the titles, I've never seen something called Standardized. The bsides are quite standard and smooth but the signature of NCT lies in their titles. I was also thrown off at the beginning but now I'm used to it and love it.

I understand why ppl feel this way bc NCT definitely doesn’t structure their songs like a “normal” song would but I’m getting tired of ppl bringing it up when they knowwww what NCT brings to the table. Like yeah you don’t have to like a part in the song (I wasn’t feeling the dance break part of Favorite) but I wasn’t surprised and didn’t act like it was random bc that’s just NCT. They do what they do best, not being the typical sound.
I gotta agree, their dance never fails me but this one is just straight up amazing. the glitch movement?!?!?!

I don’t know how SM always manage to give the most controversial song to NCT. It’s not like you hate it nor you like it. I don’t really know how I feel when I listen to their songs for the first time. However after two weeks when the song is everywhere on social media you eventually get it stuck in your head. NCT is the only K-pop group that make me doubt my own taste of music
This song was so nct, it sound like NCT it has their vibe, i thought that the first time I heard it

I feel like it's typical in SM songs. At least a lot of Red Velvet songs have parts like this and I like them as well 😁 ! It makes the song a bit quirky and more interesting to listen to in my opinion.
I think that part is supposed to signify the “glitch” it happens suddenly and the tone is different

The part that you don't like, i think that's intentional since it's glitch mode. The note is off from the key (chord), represent the "glitch". That's kinda well thought produced song imo.

I think the bit you don't like is meant to sound like an error or alert, if you look at the lyrics you can see what they're saying relates to that. At least thats what i got from it right away :D and that synth noise is sort of tetris sounding, which is how alerts on computers sounded in the noughties, and I think a lot of this is set in that era - as they're in a blockbuster with VHS haha. It's like you're trying to watch or do something and this error comes up out of nowhere, except its used in a musical sense. I'm really convinced of this because they also did it with the 'Bu-buffering' lyric, bringing a technological meta aspect in :DDD
Agreed. I actually like that brief jingle, very video game-esque which matches the theme of the music video. NCT as a whole takes an acquired taste for a refined palate.

I agree! The choreography is fast paced and the glitchy movement looks hard, like they must concentrate the movement so it looks mechanical and stiff. It's an unnatural move and they make it look so easy!👏
Everything about this so good. About the flow of the song as an SM listener it didn't seem strange to me. Yes the choreo is so tough. The control is crazy. The visuals of the mv are also so cool. Dreamies served again 💚

I was literally confused the whole premiere bcs there was so much going on but then i was able to jam to it the 2nd time listening to it bcs i have picked up some of those bg music. Typical SM music effect.
You don't like the arcade sound... then they gave you some rock and roll for the Glitch era... Nice.
I didn't expect it to go in this direction when I saw the preview, but I still enjoyed the song. The production was wonderful too. Love the rich and punchy colors. I thought there would be more glitch effects, like computerized glitch mimics, but they probably felt that would be too obvious. The ones chosen do match the lyrics it seems

I get what u mean on wanting the dance break to have something crazy but you gotta remember they’ll be performing this song on live stages multiple times and the chances of a big crazy move messing up or someone getting hurt are high when you have to repeatedly do it. So in making kpop choreography, its better to do a simple but rememberable dance move like they did with the glitching move in the chorus. A lot of Kpop Choreographers tend to think of a move that could be easy/cool to trend with their song and I think they nailed that with the glitching move:)))

i first listened to this on spotify and the first thing that really stood up to me was renjuns first prechorus and then that little sound going down on every chorus, it's so satisfying, so yeah at first listen i was kind of like what the f but i could still pick parts that i really loved. i like that part of nct, they really surprise you every time they come out with something and then you just like it because it's good at the end of the day. they're controversial but they're not bad songs, but this is like a first for dream because they always get songs that have a "typical" building of the song you know, and they ate it up. big heads up to the producer! so good and it's her first job

The fact that you're criticizing a part of the song actually makes me happy. It's only logical -ESPECIALLY on the first listen- that you don't just love everything. I didn't like that part too, but it's already growing a bit on me. The fact that it happened more than once in the song also makes it easier to get used to I guess.
