I think for people who are wondering why the song sounds awkward being sung live without backtracks is because the amount of layers and harmonization being put in it. Especially the "glitch mode" hook
I never realized how hard Glitch Mode is until this recording behind. NCT Dream made it so effortless with their own flavor. Like comparing it to the demo, dreamies made it as their very own with all those vocals, rap, harmonies, layering.
Agreed. Before this recording behind came out, Glitch Mode has always been that fun and energetic song for me. The choreo is visibly hard but I didn't expect this song to be this difficult to sing...
I'm a vocalist. I could tell but it was great to see it broken down. I think it's the most challenged I've seen Dream in a recording capture though. And often you'll do lots and lots of layers and harmonies and melody line takes and there is a danger of being over produced. Producers need to find that balance and often it's my observation of new generation producers that regardless of how good their artists are they'll still insist on a degree of auto-tune both in studio and live.
For "SM never gives their artists creative freedom", I see NCT Dream really open and communicative for what they want to change to make the track better. Those inputs sound that came from passionate artist: singer and rapper, who understand and are experts to their fields. I also see them discussing about who would sing which part the best. There's trust, teamwork and amazing bond that these guys have. I'm glad that we can see these interactions
eh isn't it always like this? the creative freedom leans more to writing and creating the music, not giving insight while recording. and nct itself is given freedom to write their own lyrics and participate more. i never see other sm groups given more freedom like them

Jeno and Mark has great vocal tunes for heavier genre's like Rock and Metal. They'd actually eat if they do something like that in the future, cause they can add grit and distortion which makes them sound aggressive and rough. But they also can sing in clean tunes so it makes them perfect for Rock songs. And I also want to highlight how fast Chenle got a hold of the rhythm and the melody of the song which is pretty difficult song. He's definitely musically intelligent
Mark would be good for some pop/rock, emo stuff, he has that a bit of a whiny way of rapping :D I mean, he already kinda did it with child lol. Jeno seems to really love doing more hardcore songs, like how he pops of in zoo or misfit. Taeil, I think could pull of 80s rock style songs with some high notes, he also said he'd love to do a rock song so.. I really wish NCT would do a band/rock song. Okay, so Jeno and Taeil can maybe pair up so it can be a mixture of aggressive/rough more modern rock (like glimo dance break), and Taeil bringing the power vocals and high notes of older, esp 80s rock. PS Ty also said, if I remember well, he'd like to do a song with rock elements?? Idk, but I def remember members saying he likes to listen to rock/rap. Also, I think HC may sound interesting singing a rock song and belting high notes and stuff. Okay, I am making a unit here 😭😭😭😭 Tbh, I know Dy loves to sing in a band, and he'd love to do a rock song too, but he'd fit more pop-rock, soft rock vibes so.. Renjun is soo good at harmonising! I am so proud of him. 😭 And Jeno really shone in this era. All his parts had that punch. He has got this ease while recording now. I am sure Mark will be happy given Jeno has found his style well.
mark listening to the demo and immediately knowing what has to change about the delivery, and then repeating it over and over until it fits his and the producer's vision... that's what makes all his parts killer
MARK in the recording studio he’s truly in his element, his knowledge and experience truly shows. The questions he asks the opinions he gives show how invested he is in the whole process. He wants this song to be as perfect as he can make it which is so admirable. The amount of times he said he record again immediately after recording because he isn’t satisfied and KNOWS he can do better. The way he helps the other members is so amazing. Cant wait for MARK to produce even more of his own songs and eventually even for groups he’s in!
Friends you can’t forget about Chenle. I feel like this is the first song where he’s really flexing his vocal muscles and musicality. His voice has definitely matured and it sounds amazing!

Chenle's voice is so clear. Renjun's voice is so versatile and clear as well. Haechan's high notes are so cool. I really like hearing Jisung and Jaemin's vocals. And Jeno and Mark's 'attack' whenever they sing is really amazing.
Renjun's voice is always beautiful to my ears, the harmonization he produces is always successful and beautiful, like eating cotton candy in the mouth, it melts well.

I'm so proud of Jeno. When I look back at his debut days, I feel like he's still not sure about his position, about what kind of contribution he wants to make for the group. This uncut reminded me so much of dear dream"s recording; the part where Mark's helps Jisung's and directs him is almost identical to when he helped the members when they were recording dear dream. Many years have past but the members still put so much faith in Mark's musical ear. He also never fails to give it his all; not only with his part but also for his members parts. I think that just shows how much the dreamie's respect Mark's opinions and respect him as an artist. Mark truly belongs in the studio, he self directs and already know what he wants. I heard the demo only once and immediately knew the things he wanted to change to make the song better. He just has the musical ear and is so talented

From here I can see why Mark and Jeno are the leader and captain of the group. They're actively giving out opinions rather than following other opinion (doesnt means any negative) to improve. It shows how they have a mind of leadership. Everyone are working really hard too. Nothing looks as effortless as they keep repeating their own parts to record the best of themselves. They change the whole song completely different to the demo except the vibe. It's like a personalisation to their personality and brand as NCT Dream. Haechan really repeat every parts until HE satisfied not the producer. This explains why people love working with him. On the other note, I feel like the editing style has differ now? Usually they would mix the parts but this time they sort it by members. It could be easier this way too as it's more focused on each member tho I'm worried that solo stan might just skip parts that eventually stop them to listen to other members' recording too😅

제노는 진짜 계속 느는 것 같다. 맛 때부터 쭉 상향타고 있음. 듣기 좋고 깔끔함… 재민이 목소리톤은 진짜 이번 노래랑 잘 어울려서 계속 듣고 싶음. 천러 음색은 원래 알고 있었는데 약간 무겁게 느껴지는 노래를 가볍게 불러줌 근데 그게 진짜 좋음. 울 런쥔이 화음도 항상 느끼지만 너무 잘 쌓고 노래하는 목소리도 너무 예쁨. 해찬이 음색은 항상 믿고 듣는 편이긴 한데 이번 고음은 진짜 높았는데도 잘함. 마크는 진짜 노래에 대한 이해도가 높은 것 같음… 자기 노래로 만드는 재주가 진짜 뛰어남. 지성이 음색은 진짜 귀한 것 같음. 처음들어보는 목소린데 랩할때 노래할때 약간 달라지는 목소리가 대박임. 오래오래 음악해줘 얘들아…

This uncut reminded me so much of dear dream"s recording; the part where Mark's helps Jisung's and directs him is almost identical to when he helped the members when they were recording dear dream. Many years have past but the members still put so much faith in Mark's musical ear. He also never fails to give it his all; not only with his part but also for his members parts. I think that just shows how much the dreamie's respect Mark's opinions and respect him as an artist. Mark truly belongs in the studio, he self directs and already know what he wants. I heard the demo only once and immediately knew the things he wanted to change to make the song better. He just has the musical ear and is so talented

From here I can see why Mark and Jeno are the leader and captain of the group. They're actively giving out opinions rather than following other opinion (doesnt means any negative) to improve. It shows how they have a mind of leadership.
Everyone are working really hard too. Nothing looks as effortless as they keep repeating their own parts to record the best of themselves. They change the whole song completely different to the demo except the vibe. It's like a personalisation to their personality and brand as NCT Dream. Haechan really repeat every parts until HE satisfied not the producer. This explains why people love working with him.
On the other note, I feel like the editing style has differ now? Usually they would mix the parts but this time they sort it by members. It could be easier this way too as it's more focused on each member tho I'm worried that solo stan might just skip parts that eventually stop them to listen to other members' recording too😅
