Awesome tip Matt thanks! I've thought about doing this with a go pro that I have that sits in my bag never being used. It's also great to be able to cut to that wider shot for the long walk down the aisle. Also if you're handheld with an 85mm maybe the extra weight of the RX0 helps to eliminate any handheld Jitters even more than the in built Sony steadyshot.
Yeah try it out! I initially have done this with a GoPro and it works great just for a safe shot or a unique angle. Only cons are the low light capabilities, audio, and it’s harder to match colors in post. I haven’t tried it yet handheld, I’ve only used it on my monopod but that could work!
This setup is an excellenbt idea! I don't do weddings but I can see myself getting this camera and mounting it on top of my GH6 for a lot of situations (would need some color grading to match the look but I read somewhere that it can shoot s-Log 2)?
The only major issue that I have with the RX0 II is the lack of continuous autofocus for video. I was at a graduation ceremony when I had to turn my camera from a subject afar to another subject at a closer distance and ended up with an unusable out-of-focus shot. Good thing this was not at a critical moment of the ceremony.
TIMagicProd yeah if they are within 3 meters you need to change it to close following. For my application I keep it past 3 meters for the focus and never had an issue.
that's smart, just subbed, I also use a7iii for weddings, I'd like to try this setup, my concern is dinners and reception are usually pretty dark, are you happy with the camera in dark environments? cheers!
The RX0ii has a firmware update. You can now change focus whilst recording by half pressing the shutter button.
It’s awesome 👏
Good idea !
DUDE what a brilliant idea. I slung two cameras with me with a 16mm wide and 85mm during weddings. Damn it gets tiring. This is a cool idea thanks!
Luke Lim yeah this certainly makes filming formalities way easier! Always got the safe shot in a small form factor

That’s genius 🤯
Any plans on stopping by NJ or NYC???
That's a clever solution. Do you have issues matching footage, and what do you typically use as your editing software?
So the sony rx0 ii has the same picture profile as the sony a7iii for no picture profile makes it easy to match. I use final cut pro x
May I know where can I get the battery holder? The name of that holder?
Thank you for the video. When you put the camera in special places, how do you do it to start / stop recording?
Fernando Salguero you can start/stop record from the play memories app which can connect I think 3 of them at once

Great video
Great vid! I shoot weddings solo too and I'm considering the Rx's for back ups to my A7iii, which would you recommend the Rx0 or Rx0ii and why? Cheers

thanks for the sub! Yeah so i've gone up to 2500 iso easily on the rx0 ii. I always light the formalities and just expose for the highlights.
Thanks Dude!
Rhoni thanks for watching!
how does that work with picture profiles and premier pro? Mini SD CARD? I use Sony a73 and A7S2. Thinking using this for weddings
Mathew Everard so it has the standard picture profile, the cine profiles, and slog 2. Takes a micro sd card.
HOW MANY MINUTES CAN IT FILM WITH FULL HD? WITHOUT THE EXTERN BATTERY :)
4k/30 - 30 minutes on fresh Sony batteries.
