    Thank you for this video; especially informing what tools were needed. The process was pretty quick. For those going through this, order the Doorman PN# 949-202. I read a lot of positive things about the Arnott brand PN# P-2937 so I purchased it first but it requires some modifications. I didn't want to do that so returned it for the Doorman which plugged right in. Test drove it and it works great.....well, so far.
    Thank you again, greatly appreciated!

      I would say compressor. On my previous navigator i removed the air system andcreplaced with struts and coils. Not too difficult of a job. I would've done the same if compressor wasn't under warranty

    Nice video, thanks. I was sure my wife’s ‘13 Navigator L would need the compressor. Same color as your vehicle by the way. Worked fine for years and the rear end dropped down after work one day for her. I tested all of the related under hood fuses and swapped in a few spare relays in position 10, no change. Then I jumpered pins 3 and 5 in the relay socket and the rear end lifted up quickly and seems to hold. You can’t leave the jumper in there or the compressor keeps running. I put the relay back in but I know it’s not really fixed. From experience, any thoughts what it might be? I doubt that the left and right ride height sensors both failed from that morning she went to work with everything working fine to when she came home and the rear end dropped.

    Thanks for making the video , I do have a question for you , I just replaced both front air suspension plus a new compressor the other day , everything good but the next day my navigator it’s sitting higher on my driver side and lower on passenger side , same for the rear end , ….,I was wondering if you would know what it is , I was thinking to replace both front air ride suspension leveling ( sensors ) thanks for any suggestions.

    • @Kevtheguitarguy
      @Kevtheguitarguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      drive the car a little then park differently than you normally do. ex back in driveway if you normally head in forward. this will take away the ground being unlevel. next measure the distance between top of wheel and well on all tires so you know the difference. disconnect your sensors and see if the spin freely or are frozen. chances are if one is bad it could make the others compensate to keep level. if they move freely they are probably ok. let us know how things go

    Love help like this . I tore this truck apart looking for the 4 wire Connector relay . Do you know where it is located exactly? Mine is a 2012 navigator. My 1st time ever touching an air ride suspension.

    • @Kevtheguitarguy
      @Kevtheguitarguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      there is a 4 wire connection shown at 2:52 mins into the video. The "relay switch" I believe is located in the fuse box on the drivers side under the hood. I think it is the square relay #10.

    • @Kevtheguitarguy

    • @Kevtheguitarguy

      If old one runs put it back in and return new one, it's likely new one is junk

    • @Kevtheguitarguy
      @Kevtheguitarguy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Make sure new one doesn't have any shipping plugs or caps that prevent it from completing a circuit. After that use a volt meter to make sure power is getting to plugs on compressor. The only other thing could be that the new ones aren't calling for power where the old one could have a leak and constantly call for power

    • @breebree3930
      @breebree3930 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Kevtheguitarguy how do I get the new ones to call for power?

    • @Kevtheguitarguy
      @Kevtheguitarguy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Check the wires (the plug) to check for voltage . If no voltage it means it is likely not calling for power. One thing could be making sure air suspension system is switched to on. The other are the sensors by the back wheels that when they get low the sensors allow voltage to run.

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 06 has the pump under the water tank. You typically have to remove the battery and battery tray and then unbolt the tank and move it backwards to where the battery normally mounts. Then you'll get access to the compressor.

    The rear end won't pump up on my navigator. The driver side hight sensor is sticking and grabbing but the pump is loud and rattling, would you say the hight sincer is keeping it from going up or the compressor is bad. Update.... problem fixed.. description in comments

    • @Kevtheguitarguy
      @Kevtheguitarguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds like you might have multiple issues. I'll start by saying i am not a mechanic. If compressor is loud it is probably on it's death bed. If you have other problems such as sensors and possibly rear air bags you may want to look into a conversion kit to struts. I have done one before on navigator and it's not too difficult

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've got a 2004, so not exactly the same, but if one of my front ride height sensors popped loose it caused both rear bags to deflate. I'd spray some lube on the sensors and move them through their full range of motion and see if they loosen up.

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A loud and rattling pump might just be worn out isolation mounts. The pump could be fine, but it vibrates so its has rubber mounts. When these mounts get stiff or fail it can cause the pump to sound noisy.

      Keep in mind , I am not a mechanic. I did this job by myself without any help of where to begin. By showing others what I took off , where they were located and what tools were needed were helpful to others. I am sorry if you think that I receive any money from the added time it takes me to record while I'm doing repairs, then downloading clips to my computer, then editing and uploading to TH-cam in the attempt to be helpful to others. But as far as the replacement.. play video backwards there's no difference of what goes where when you put things back together
