Personally I'd much prefer they gave it firefly instead. Dragonfly is only good when it can be pared with another explosion perk at the same time (like Incandescent or chromatic fire not perfect 5th) or a damage perk whereas firefly gives better aoe, outlaw, and solar damage on all weapons which opens up subclass and artifact synergy. At this point dragonfly might as well just be bumped up to function like meganeura if they want people to take it seriously.
Oh man. I was the healer on the other side for your first clip and last game of the video. I felt so ineffective against your squad. It was cool to see another lumina+boots guardian in the other team though. I think it was Deign who asked about the noble rounds...you don't have to have lumina out to get the noble rounds. I'll use no hesitation a lot of the time to keep benevolence and restoration up, then switch to lumina for burst heals and buffs, or benevolence when there's no healing juice in the auto. I was telling my nephew about the games and hoping I'd get to be on your team for the next game...but then the matchmaking got stuck for 10+ minutes and I had to switch characters to rejoin. GGs though. It was an honor. 🤓

Similar build different approach:
If you do a tiicus hip fire shot and a kinetic weapon with firefly, you can almost get a kill but if you add chromatic fire, you can ensure a collat kill
Preferably use stasis so the slow doesn't let the other teammates back away, and also is preferable to use defiance of Yasmin with firefly and opening shot or preadyths revenge with firefly, you could use a primary but I find it better to use a sniper

It's wild to me that of all the pinnacle weapons and perks that came back this one got forgotten. I mean its just scaling dragonfly so 1 its extremely niche and 2 it wouldn't be that hard to buff but EXTREMELY fun to build around on weapons that aren't a precision scout. Not just primaries but imagine something like a machine gun with dragonfly 2 electric boogaloo
They could bring Oxygen back, but Meganeura is pointless, it does nothing on it's own and only buffs Dragonfly. Makes it useless for a random roll weapon.
look at what they did to onslaught. That basically used to only be a rampage buff but they separated them, reworked and buffed it. I have no issues with precision scouts personally but realistically 99% of the playerbase only uses them in pvp with boxed breathing and arguably other frames do it better and practically noone uses precisions in pve so them reworking the perk and putting it on better frames/better weapon types would 100% be a better use of devtime than just bringing back oxygen as a random roll gun. @@Welverin

Meganeura literally only increases the effectiveness of Dragonfly. Separate it from that and it does nothing.
Bringing it back would mean making an entirely new perk and just using the old name.

Again, if you look at HOW they reworked onslaught (I.E. look at the patchnotes for when it got reworked and tested it for yourself) the damage numbers got tweaked so you weren't losing damage as you spun up the perk stacks like it used to. Rampage was literally necessary for the perk to not feel like garbage before it got reprised. It was basically legendary autorifle huckleberry but before the rework onslaught wouldn't have stood out on its own just like meganeura. What I'm saying is they treat meganeura similarly and roll the damage that dragonfly provided into it and give it a little extra on top like how onslaught now has a small built in reload buff that isn't shown anywhere else but is noticeable if you pay attention. Dragonfly is only a good aoe perk when you don't have access to 3.0 aoe perks or it rolls together with a similar perk trigger like Incandescent in the other column like on the last wish bow so Dragonfly on its own needs something to help it stand out but meganeura would need minimal changes to make it stand out because you'd functionally be using it the same way you did before except you'll actually have choices of perks to pair with it instead of it being: Dragonfly, Dragonfly scaling perk, Dragonfly spec. Just rolling it all together like how Dragonfly spec is rolled into Dragonfly opens up then room to give us unique, cool, and useful rolls on new weapons while spicing up forgotten perks. Nothing about what I'm saying would be making a whole new perk, but it would be reworking meganeura to be functionally used exactly the same way it would have been used in a better sandbox but FAR less restricting on how you would build around the perk. I mean Imagine it on a strand pulse with unraveling rounds procced. You'd nuke majority of the ads, spread unravel, and weaken everything thats still alive and that's without considering any other stuff like aspects, other fragments, exotic armor, artifact mods ect.

Onslaught increase rate of fire, Meganeura improves Dragonfly.
Onslaught was able to stand on its own with some tweaks because it did SOMETHING on its own.
Meganeura does not and it can not. There is no tweak you can make so it can stand on its own and work with other perks. It would require a complete rework, which would make it something entirely new.
Your idea is to just turn Meganeura into a buffed Dragonfly, that's an awful idea and doesn't at all justify bringing the perk back. Just buff Dragonfly if you think it needs it.

Oh hey, I heard Pointed Inquiry mentioned. I've had fun combining focused fury, sanguine alchemy, and an empowering rift. It's a stagnant playstyle but no one ever expects the two tap on any res 150 scout.

Firefly dragonfly is so much fun, didn't know it was usable in pvp
If you're good at hitting off angles and the enemy team keeps holding hands it absolutely can work, just doesn't work super often unless you're very disciplined or are just already goated at the game lol
I learned recently that a meganeura was a prehistoric dragonfly that could be the size of humans

The Oxygen is a fun Scout to use in PVE now that the Light Level could be raised 👍

Onslaught (the perk) used to be exclusive to the gambit auto rifle, Breakneck, and it gave a rate of fire bonus proportional to rampage stacks (the weapon was a fixed roll with rampage). They’ve mostly abandoned stuff like that, though; similar to them combining the [insert perk] spec mods (e.g. dragonfly spec) with the perk itself.

only noticed twenty minutes in that your doom of chelchis is set up exactly like min, right down the shader. i love that gun and will not take off sweaty confetti.
love oxygen more, tho. pulled that out during into the light when they said they were unsunsetting everything. then cleared final shape with it. felt good using it again
and yeah, really not a PvP player (even if i did reset my crucible rank a lot last year)

Oh man, back when Gyrfalcon gave you a damage boost when coming out of invis (ancient history), it was also enough of a boost to make Doom 3 tap. Fun but short time in pvp before GFH was changed to give volatile.

Oxygen was goated in a time when scouts weren’t even that good. Surprised it hasn’t been brought back as a nightfall weapon, would be a cool way to reintroduce meganeura

For what? Barrier champs? If so, I'd go Under Over + enhanced kinetic tremors for the 5 shots to proc it. It being a 260rpm scout lets it proc K.T. SUPER fast.
