Outside of “making love in the rain,” this is my favorite Janet track (yes I know it’s Herb Alpert) It’s the aura the production gives off more than anything. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are unreal

I love Janet to death but Madonna is the real Queen of Pop. And its funny cuz I always thought Janet was like the black version of Madonna down to the singing style, pop hits, dance routines and acting career, plus neither were great vocalists but still put it in. Janet is just ONE of the Queens of Black Pop (if you wanna call that a category) along with Diana Ross, Beyonce and Whitney Houston.

Madonna is the highest selling female artist of all time irrespective of genre having sold more than 250 million albums. She's in a category with The Beatles, Elvis, Michael Jackson, etc. The only other woman in that category is Rihanna and that's mostly cuz she came up in an era that includes digital sales and streams. I love Janet but you're delusional. Madonna is her own individual music entity.

I absolutely love rain also. I can sit and listen to it all day if I had too and when it thunders, I can crawl up on the sofa and listen to that also. So Beautiful. God's work. A fabulous Album.
This was my favorite song off this album. I was 18 when I copped this the day it dropped and remember liking it but not thinking it was a great album and I played it a lot especially in my college dorm room when girls were hanging out. Gotta give it another listen to see if its evolved to classic status over time. A lot of people who call things classic are usually just hype off the nostalgia of their youth or whatever they were going through at the time. To me a classic is much more than that.
