    More information about Lara Fabian:
Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Lisa Fischer, .... In my personal opinion, she is even the best.
There are a few vocal characteristics that are her signature: her famous resonance for instance that allows her to sing acapella without mic in venues with 8,000 attendees. Her nickname in the singing world is "the ring" due to this. I would also list her amazing phrasing, breath management and her pleasant tone even when belting in her upper register.
So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence:
    • she speaks 4 languages fluently (french, italian, english, spanish) and has sung in 12 languages in total
    • she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for most her songs, in the 4 languages she speaks. She often co-composes the music with the composer.
    • she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none
    • she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens
A quick background on her and her career:
She is belgian, but also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia). She was raised in both countries so she speaks both french and italian as native languages.
She has been classically trained on vocal, piano and songs composition for 10 years ( from 8 to 18) in the Brussels Royal Conservatory. She is still having vocal lessons and training several times a week today.
She started her career in Canada in the early 90s, more precisely in Quebec, the french-speaking part of Canada. She now lives in Montreal and has also Canadian citizenship
She became very famous there and then conquered France in 1997 (she topped charts there and some of her songs such as "Je t'aime" or "Tout" became classics of the french music).
in 2000, she was about to penetrate the US Market, with a lot of media initial interest. Her first english song (I will love again), a pop dance song, reached number one on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart and number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Her Album ("Lara Fabian") was about to become a massive hit, and the concert "From Lara With Love" was recorded to be broadcasted everywhere in the US. This concert is legendary and the song you just reviewed is from this concert.
But a dispute with Sony on artistry directions, and the will from Celine Dion's staff to block her progress in the US, completely broke this plan.
She thus refocused back on Europe and made huge success there, extending her reach to Eastern Europe and Asia where she became an absolute superstar thru her collaboration with Igor Krutoy during several years.
She is also a star in Brazil as her song "Love By Grace" used as the soundtrack for a very famous soap opera topped the charts for months.
Many of her songs became classics and were covered by the other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban, …
With her success in Europe, Brazil and part of Asia, she is the inspiration of the new generation of vocalists: most of them are coming from there.
Thru their covers of Lara Fabian songs, USA is now rediscovering her.
She is Dimash's idol: I’ve read somewhere that, when he was a child, he was listening her songs every night to get asleep.
He covered many of her songs (that she performed originally ; she also wrote some of these)
Out of my mind I can list:
    • Adagio,
    • Mademoiselle Hyde,
    • Know,
    • Love of tired swans,
She also wrote the lyrics of his song « Your Love ».
She covered « Love is like a dream » before him (song from Igor Krutoy originally performed by Alla Pugacheva)
And they performed Ti Amo Cosi together with Aida Garafulina.
This is a song that she performed originally with Dmitriy Hvorostovsky and Alina Yaroyava then again later with Dmitriy and Sumi Jo, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida.
Dimash is now also working with Igor Krutoy who came back from retirement and composed severals songs for him.
Many other top vocalists from the current generation covered her songs:
    • Floor Jansen (Adagio)
    • Polina Gagarina (Adagio, Je t’aime)
    • Diana Ankudinova (Tomorrow is a lie)
    • Morissette Amon (Broken Vow)
    • Gabriel Henrique (Love by Grace)
    • Cakra Khan (Broken Vow)
    • Katrina Velarde (Broken Vow)
    • Giulia Falcone (Adagio, Caruso, Je suis malade)
    • Almira from 4th impact (Broken Vow)
    • Forestella (Je suis malade)
    • ....
Sorry if I was long, but I hope this gives some context on Lara.
If you explore more of her songs, you will soon be hooked, I'm sure.

Lara sings in 12 languages and is fluent in 5. She is THE QUEEN and really an Idol for many young singers, but the most important for DIMASH, he loves her and has been listening to her from the age of 11.

This song is available with English subtitle, you don't have the poetry but you can understand the meaning of the lyrics. Adagio from the same show is another great song from her and she sing it in English.

Thank you for presenting Lara Fabian and reacting to her song. I was sad to see you did not have the english subtitle on. The lyrics are very special and are a must with this song. I was pleased to see that you did run the video to the complete end. Lara gets so invested in her songs and it usually takes her some time after her last note to get out of character. To me, showing that portion of the video is a sign of respect to her and the viewers. Hope you will follow the list below, given to you by Fedor, Eric and PACS. Some of the songs are written by Lara and I believe they are identified on their list. Must commend them on the accuracy of her story. Some viewers will be interested to hear some of it. Keep up the good work.

Nice reaction, you can hear Lara Fabian in English with her own songs, ADAGIO LIVE, BROKEN VOW, YOU'RE NOT FROM HERE, LOVE BY GRACE and dozens more. In Italian, CARUSO, PERDERE L'AMORE and in Spanish QUEDATE, and LLORA. Lara Fabian is one of the most beautiful voices in the world. Her stage presence, her body expressions, her emotionality and the power of her voice are incomparable. Without forgetting MADEMOISELLE HYDE whose lyrics she wrote on the music of IGOR KRUTOY Merci de Montréal.

Thanks for you reaction. Lara was right. Feelings have no barriers in language, even though you didn’t turn on English captions. You felt it. The lyrics of this song is very deep, tragic and emotional. Hope to see more reactions to Lara Fabian.

    Songs:
    Caruso
    Perdere l’amore

Your not from here (in English)
    And many more…

Oh, you're so touching... This song is a cover from Serge Lama in the 70's, a story he lived. I think Lara lived that too, so do I. She's talking about a very toxic relationship that makes her sick. "Je suis malade" means "I'm sick". You can find this version with subtitles but it's good to watch that without to feel the emotion at first. You know she's a friend of Dimash, he's a fan of her, she helped him and they sang together. So, I'm gonna give you another link with Dimash. He became famous with the song "SOS d'un terrien en détresse". This song is very old, it comes from the rock opera Starmania, with French and Canadian artists in the 70's. This song was written for a new singer at this time, Daniel Balavoine, because of his range. After that, Daniel composed, wrote and sang his own songs (and for others too). I wish you could react to one of his song, the last one before he died in an helicopter accident in Africa, because he was involved in that humanity case. French people still cry for him. This song is wonderful, the beginning is strange because he registered a train and transformed the sounds, that was quite new in 1985... The lyrics are a real poetry, you should read the translation before listening to it, and his voice is so beautiful... The name of that song is "Tous les cris les SOS" (yes, SOS again).
I loved your reaction and cried with you, you live in the emotion, as I do.
If you want to see more Lara, you should watch "Je t'aime" in the concert in Paris in 2001, prepare your tissues too.
Now I follow you, you're a beautiful person, rare in this world. Sorry, I was long.
    Love from France 🇫🇷😘

This recording is from a Lara Fabian TV concert in 1999. You may like her song "Adagio" or "You're Not From Here"
in English from that same concert. There are many interesting singers out in the wide world...In France a singer
named Zaz had a hit in 2010 you might like "Je Veux" (hunt for the one with subtitles), and more recently, Barbara Pravi
covers a song, "Dommage", which sketches several "20 something" french lives, & sang "Voila" at the Eurovision 2021
contest. From Argentina there's Cande y Paulo singing "Barro Tal Vez." Cande plays bass and sings with Paulo on
keyboard. Ahh..TMI, sorry. Thanks for the reaction, Cheryle

I loved you reaction, Cheryle and subscribed, I hope to see more of your reacts to Lara, you will always be amazed by her vocal skills and more importantly her passion and unique ability to convey emotions.
I recommend this playlist with HQ videos and english subtitles when needed:
    th-cam.com/play/PLV-BfzP9ln4xyPy8l43ag7hd20S9PeNiE.html
Within this playlist you will find the following jewels:
    - Adagio (english)
    - Caruso (italian)
    - Broken Vow (english)
    - Perdere L’Amore (italian)
    - You are not from here (english)
    - Love by Grace (english)
But all other songs are incredible
I will post more details on Lara in a separate comment: her background, career and the influence she has on the new generation of vocalists.

I always believe music can transcend language barriers. Heck, my favourite band sings in German. Ypu're right with this one, you didn't need subtitles or a translation to feel the emotion behind the song. Come to think on that subject - didn't the women from ABBA not speak English when they started? They learned to sing the songs "Parrot Style?" That's vaguely in the back of my mind somewhere.....

It's a very simple matter to find-on TH-cam-the version with French and English subtitles. I've seen this video so many times I have the lyrics memorized now, but for some of your viewers to whom it is new, the lyrics add immeasurably to the power of the song. They describe the central theme in such graphic, poignant, gut-wrenching language that it seems almost criminal to deny your audience that added dimension and depth of the experience. I don't say this to complain, simply to encourage you to check beforehand if the video is in English, and if it's not, is there a version with English subtitles. It's a small search for you, but a massive benefit for your audience. Meanwhile, Thank you for sharing this with us. I'm sorry you feel that way but that's one good thing about being human. We are allowed to have our own opinions to everything. What I like to do and all won't please everyone and I don't expect it to but at least I love what I do and this is who I am and I love being me. Isn't that the great thing about life? As long as you are happy with who you are and as long as you're not hurting anyone in the process then don't change for anyone else even if they don't like what you're doing.
