You missed one I recently discovered in Operations Mission 6: Decimus: “Straban, that weapon of yours is the pride of the forge” Straban: “I know” Decimus: “Good talk…”
By the way Straban talks, I reckon he's a mars born primaris. No want for glory, no time for jokes, only interested in efficiency and duty. Born, augmented, programmed and sent off to war
He definitely has some Imperial Fists Geneseed. No nonsense, blunt, and efficient. Also seems to have good fire discipline, which the Imperial Fists are known for.
@@tranmikey7355 There’ll be another chaplain. You see while GW made the entire thing canon now, Acheron being the official 2nd company captain replacing Sicarius and Titus in the command list, they both got on tabletop. That’s rock solid. But Leandros…his name didn’t even make it to Lexicanum lol
"There is no better line of fire than a barrel rammed down an enemy's throat." "Hmph. I hope you're cleaning it often." Good LORD, the banter in this game is good sometimes!!!
Love that Quartus is chill, cause let’s look at this legitimately, how much of a fucking badass do you have to be to carry a fucking sowed and shield into a future battle where the enemies have guns
I was surprised how much I grew to love the Titus B-teams. The 0:20 conversation is so simple, but effective at showing the brotherly bond in a way that isn't slaughter-related. And hearing Decimus hyping his job up during the main campaign is always a delight.
I'm guessing Vespasius, Quartus ans Scipious are firstborn of the Ultramarines, born in the 40th millenium. The melee marines speak on more religious, reverent levels. Decimus, Valius are original Primaris from the 30th millenium that awoke in the present after cryo stasis. They boast, joke, and are more sociable than the stoic, reverent warrior monks of 40k Firstborn marines.
@@vake1234 Scipius we know from his dialog started off as a scout marine ages ago before becoming a full battle brother ,we just dont know if he was a scout pre primaris rubicon procedure was introduced or when it replaced the Firstborn medical procedure.
Honestly, if these Marines were Deathwatch from different chapters, the dialogue wouldn't be too far off. They could go so far with co-op if they ever take that approach, going from the B-team into various Deathwatch squads.
one thing that's fun about 40k as a setting is how the pompous overblown aesthetics and writing and character don't even mask that these are regular guys. They don't think so and their world doesn't think so... but the audience, players can see it. It's charming but also fuels the tragedy of the whole setting's reality.
I've noticed that the lines regarding Titus don't really play often anymore after the last two patches. I wonder if these lines occur if you set the missions prior to the final one in the campaign or I'm missing something.
It's nice they've added these, but I do wish it wasn't Ultramarines flavoured dialogue. It'll be fine as I'm going to probably play Crimson Fists in MP modes, mentioning the Codex won't really hurt my immersion too much, but if I was playing a Space Wolf, I'd probably be sounding a bit weird.
I mean the immersion is already broken by them being explicity stated to be the squad working parallel to the main story. So it was always Ultramarines in different Chapter cosplays
I’m going to be honest, the game is fun but this character dialogue puts me to sleep, especially compared to what darktide has. “Brother, are we not the most ultra of marines made in the primarchs blessed image?” “Indeed brother, for we are the emperor’s spears and the most esteemed warriors of ultramar.” vs “think that last thing I ate *urp* ain’t sittin right, sah…” “throne alive big man, how many times do I need to tell you, ya can’t absorb the smarts of any heretics you eat! And especially not the karkin flesh bag carcasses!” “My beloved made the space marines just as he intended, it’s such a tender moment seeing them devour each others brains right out of their brothers skulls isn’t it!?”
@@SpicyPsyDuck I’m going to be completely honest, for as much of a lore nerd as I am I had forgotten that fact for some reason. But now that I’m reminded of that aspect to these characters I think I’ll find new appreciation for these performances. Thanks dude!
let just hope for a deathwatch sequel at least that place have more chapters than just Ultramarine. Ultramarine are great as a straight man but when all of them are Ultramarines you get this dialogue which is inline for what they are.
@@SpicyPsyDuck many books were written over the years to show that space marines can indeed be interesting despite being those child soldiers there's no shame in admitting that the gameplay is fun but the banter is mid
@@vilnish2377 There is also the difference between studios. Fatshark is very familiar with character banter, due to having 3 games filled with it - and even making it one of their primary selling points. Focus is less familiar with it, and on top of that as fun as the operations are it is and will always be the B plot of the story. Its got far less focus than Titus, Gadriel and Chairon. Vespatius- The Zealot
Decimus -The Tryhard

Straban is not autistic! he's a fine example of combat effective team leader, very, very fucking straight. Like Ultra Magnus from Transformers
