It was funny watching my brother play this game for the first time yesterday and he was getting so hyped up when he would get an execution in a horde 😭
Bro, you just described me exactly!! I main a heavy, and getting surrounded used to make me panick, BIGTIME! I felt that heavy must absolutely suck. One day it just hit me that, fuck it. I’m a damn space marine. We don’t panick, and we stand our ground. Started forcing myself to relax and bit and practice parry/melee. Totally changed my game! Just now going to start into the 3rd difficulty. No where near ready for where you’re at yet. I solo everything.
First tip about learning Majoris combo timing: The best way to learn that is in the class trials. Eg. Tactical and Bulwark. Kill everything except the enemy you are trying to learn wether it's boneswords/whip warriors, lictor / ravener etc. Then just try to parry & perfect dodge all their attacks for as long as possible. If you get a gunstrike, don't use it. Just leave them alive and keep parrying & dodging until you have all of their attack patterns committed to memory. This is much faster and easier than going into operations.
A lot of players also seems to forget that killing a Majoris will kill off a decent amount of minoris, where in example I'd see people running away from a mob instead of playing a little smart by using grenades instead of saving them, using melee AoE then focusing on a Majoris, Running way ahead and leaving the team and dying instead of sticking together etc.
The irony is this game is the rubric marines kind of work the same way. They are controlled by their sorceror friends, so killing a sorceror should lorewise turn off all the nearby marines and cause them to just stand there. It would have been a nice parallell to the synapse mechanic, but alas
Yoooo I don’t play but im gonna leave this comment, a like on the video and then play the full run time to support the channel in the algorithm so it doesn’t think your new content isn’t good
haven't gamed for an entire year, because of life and genuinely I haven't liked the look of anything being released by studios, I'm a casual 40k fan and played the first one, anyway your videos have seriously upped my game thank you.
I'm a full solo runner since I don't have ps plus. I maxed my sniper, tactical, and vanguard now heading to bulwark. The best advice I can give is LEARN the class you are using plus weapons heavily play lots of games and learn the best tactics for that certain class before hitting solo ruthless. Also don't rely on bots too much sometimes you will get really bad bots so you will need to practice crowd work on every class. Third tip don't parry all the time sometimes you'll get a perfect parry and a lictor can attack as soon as your done with a parry and hit you with the quick attack which can shred armor depending on your class and also health so learn to dodge. Fourth tip use your bots as meat shields when you need to relief of a massive wave 90% of the time all the enemies will attack you so try to use your bots as a shield or as a way to get rid of some enemies they won't do much at times but it'll help a bit. For the final tip PLEASE do your self a favor and kill the majoris calling for reinforcements if you can't its fine just play patiently because they can activate wave wether they are large or small to me it doesn't commonly happen but it does happen a every few games. Hope this helps yall.
I'm curious how you plan/are going to deal with tough flying enemies like the Zoanthrop when you only have a pistol. Keep in mind that the Assault has a Heavy pistol but no Plasma pistol.
@@SmokeDrake good question idk I'm not on assault yet so I can't say much but I have heard the damage on the heavy pistol is really good so my guess is once it's lvl up fully with good perks it can do really good dps on zoanthropes plus krak grenades are craked. Neurothropes are easy to kill since you can melee them when their doing their shock wave attacks when you get near them.
@@SmokeDrake a relic heavy pistol with the right perks can probably two clip or three clip a zoanthrope so it probably shouldn't take all your amo just some, plus it has many increase heads hot damage perks which are good against zoanthropes cause they got big heads also you can use the relic pistol with an increased mag capacity if you are worried about ammo.
Really good video, I've gotten a lot better at the game with the help of your content. Now have a max level Tactical, Heavy and Assualt, and I'm having a blast on Ruthless difficulty.
regarding timing on the whip double hit they do so often: I find it generally works to shoot them once with a pistol immediately after landing the first parry, then hit the second parry. I don't usually actually shoot them because I feel like its a waste of the ammunition, but its a good timing gauge.
I been vibing with the vanguard on ruthless, the ability to disco dance through a swarm shotgun blasting is godly, the ability to hold your own In melee against the swarm is just gravy.
I recommend tactical for anyone who just wants to get relic tokens solo and not try to find other players. Use the grenade launcher with the refill on majoris kills and it becomes so easy
7:54 Another good thing to remember with the big guys is that with the Tyranids if you execute a warrior enemy or larger, synaptic severence will kill the gaunts around you giving you some much needed breathing room during those waves. Good example of that happening at 8:43
I just finished my first solo ruthless with a lvl 18 assault. The gun strike build is a must. I pussied out when a carnifex spawned and the armory data wasn’t near the end of inferno. My Strat is to let the massive wave hit and hunker down in a choke point
I maxed all classes, often played solo and no down cleared all missions on ruthless difficulty, I strongly recommend not to fight in the middle of the crowds. Just trying to be in the situation that no enemies are in your back, things get a lot easier.
Focusing on majoris in a horde and getting those parries, gunstrikes, and dodges off while using the minoris as bloodbags for free armor is the best advice I could give for higher teirs. That and kiting to get everything in front of you
Tip: Search for good places to fend off enemy waves. The position at 08:45 is very bad for a heavy. With a heavy I would have waited downstairs at the bridge. This way the enemy will only spawn in front of you.
Id add that the second perfect (consecutive) parry will garenteed give gunstrike. So, for example, if a majoris with a with a whip, does a 3 hit combo, and you perfect parry the first 2 attacks, It will garrentee a gunstrike. That being said, BE CAREFUL, there maybe more around you about to attack, and the gunstrike DOES NOT give I-Frames, so sometimes it's best not to gunstrike and parry again. Take your time, be patent.
Great advice. Still haven’t gotten to ruthless but I will eventually. I’ve been trying to unlock 2 classes at once and I’m still not max level. Haven’t even tried pvp yet
“The number one solo run skill you need to master is… the melta” 😂 Jokes aside, not panicking when you’re getting mobbed is probably the best advice. Stay calm and wait for any attacking animations rather than relying on the blue circles (although they can help).
Fall of Atreus is hands down the best Operation if you re struggling and want to always get both armory data and gene seed. Its been both my first substantial and ruthless clear, ruthless even was first try. Without a doubt the best operation for new players who arent gods in this game yet but want to progress instead of dumping half an hour into a failed mission.
Whats the easiest mission to solo on ruthless on the lowest level of a class. Or what is the general class level that you should attempt ruthless solo?
Gun-Strikes really annoy me sometimes and I wish there was a separate button for them. Good example is when I'm surrounded by enemies and they are piling on. I try to clear some of them with a melta shot only for my guy to stop what he is doing and go through the long animation of doing a gunstrike/attempting to do a gunstrike while getting battered. I wish they weren't in the game sometimes tbh. Also regarding grenades, I totally agree that Krak should be priortised for Extremis/Terminus enemies. The problem is you only ever load in with frags and sometimes you'll get a Zoanthrope, Carnifex, Neurothrope etc VERY early in a run before you've had time to find any. I would like the ability to chose grenade types for loadouts before I start a mission.
Id like an option with no bots to do a true solo test on Ruthless. I found the parry window when using any fencing weapon to be so ridiculous that I perpetually kept my armor at maximum. The Vanguard talent only made it easier. The only issue I've had was the Hive Tyrant as a melee class only because of lack of practice.
ive found that the closer to the AI I stay, the better I do especially in melee. I find myself pushing forward and getting swarmed and crushed oftgen, especially when Im attempting to flank a swarm. but tried staying closer to my teammates and found that they can offset the huge mobs quite a bit
This game was phenomenal before 4.0, now average sometimes is what ruthless used to feel like. 4.0 should’ve added the enemy count and extremis and terminus encounters, but not buff the enemy damage and armor, nerf the player’s roll, armor and ammunition. Honestly a 20% ammo buff across the board to all classes’ base ammunition, the sniper class needs more ammunition with 4.0 especially, the heavy bolter needs a damage buff. Maybe max leveling a relic weapon yields one extra mastery point.
TV said you can queue up multiple gun strikes on seperate majoris enemies but I'm pretty sure you aren't allowed to do that and that each new gunstrike appearance deletes the old one. Has anyone else had this happen?
My biggest threat in Operations is my latency lol (Being in Australia) theres a lot of times when I parry and I hear that parry sound but it doesn't register consecutively is highly annoying.
And also what is your typical internet DL/UL speeds. If you don’t know those things, You can test that for free by searching “internet speed test” in the google search engine and then using the free browser tool provided.
the ONLY thing I think needs to be changed on the difficulty modes, is they need to not reduce the effectiveness of stims. They've already reduced the amount of them via lower drop rate of pickups, don't then make them next to fucking useless.
I can solo mission 3 and 5 on ruthless solo with a level 1 space marine any class *BUT* assault, they have the coolest unlockable gear but assault is such an ass class 😭
If you start as the assault or bulwark, any other class you play just feels like the Emporer has gifted you big pp weapon. Power sword or T-Hammer is missed though =(
One question I wanna ask. How do you do that fast heavy attack on sniper?. I don't remember seeing it on the perk tree for sniper or on the combat knife.
So, I just started playing online so I can play with a friend. While I was waiting for him, I thought I'd try a different class. So, I set the game to private, chose a mission, stood in the ready area, and... nothing. The mission never started. So, how do you play solo?
Your tip about being patient for the parry is incorrect, as the perfect parry timing is by parrying early. The timing for a perfect dodge is by dodging at the last second (last frames), but for parries it is the other way around. This makes it quite confusing in the beginning and until you realize that fact.
To succeed in ruthless use a melta weapon and in large packs fish for parries to setup chain executions and profit from I-frames. Gg. Always go for the parries on blue attacks and keep in mind you can parry cancel pretty much every move in the game.
Abuse the execution mechanic as melee. When you’re surrounded and in the shit you’re immune to everything while executing. Don’t just execute to execute. Also there are breakpoints just like in vermintide 2 but that’s a later conversation.
So I’m starting to feel like 4th difficulty is easier than the 3rd. More than that, some 4th difficulty runs have much fewer enemies but I have no idea why.
The game became too easy and at teh same time parry is so much frustrating since the patch. Honnestly I prefered the game before the patch because chaos missions are still not enjoyable and the parry is too awkward now. Also the enemies just surrounding you and doing nothing. Absolutly stupuid and bad for the gameplay its starting to look like assassins creed
Let’s be honest, since the patch, Ruthless is the equivalent of an Olympic gold medalist doing laps in the shallow end of the pool with a life jacket and being allowed to put their feet down to rest!
Game is good, but not really designed for single player. Yes, you can do it if you act like its a souls game, but progression is locked behind difficulties in pve. Which is bad design.
Every one of us us knows that man, we just enjoy the challenge sometimes of doing solo what was designed for a team to accomplish. It’s just for fun man.

agreed, the gameplay is fun but damn does it get repetitive, especially if you want to max out all the weapons

I'm holding out for the new difficulty; kinda sleepwalking through ruthless at this point.
