A 2 bedroom apartment in Komarock Heights is quoted at Kes. 5.8 Million by a number of real estate companies including Tysons, Villacare etc, and we haven't touched the Maisonettes at Phase 5 that started at Kes. 9.5 million..

That 3.7 million was the going rate more than 10 years ago, now, you'll be hard pressed to get anything other than a 1 bedroom house at less than 5 Million

Alafu I don’t think it’s somalis who made the rent to rise in komarock , coz those are standard market rents similar to other areas in Nairobi even in areas that have got no Somalis

Great job AK, especially where you tell the correct narrative. 60% of Nairobians live in Eastlands and not slums as the NGO's like to claim. The slums (Kibera, Mukurus, Mathare etc) at most host 10% of the population.

    • @jlw2719

Interesting, because the only pictures of Nairobi that we see in the west are downtown Nairobi and the Kibera slum.

@@jlw2719 that's the narrative of msm so that the political class does not have to do anything to help reduce poverty and homelessness in the west they can simply tell you you are richer than Africans that's my take on all those images especially before TH-cam and I also got the impression in the west that everyone thinks they are better than Africans by tbthey are struggling all the same way because you struggle to pay rent ,heat electricity or a a mortgage and Africans struggle to pay rent or they have a piece of land and struggle to build a good house and battle with nature to find food and water

I am a Tanzanian living in Dar es salaam looking at the East African countries, Kenya has made great strides in development, especially in terms of human development and housing, and road infrastructure. Kenyan People should be very grateful to your first President Kenyatta because he managed to put good policies that made you get to where you are now. So good to see attractive housing estates. I wish developers could have thought of maintaining a balance between buildings and greenery. It is very important to preserve a balance for oxygen levels that is obviously a must for a healthy living. Unfortunately there are more and more such developments around the world and people forget the greenery that is required too. I wish a balance could be maintained. It would be a shame fir Africa to loose it's beautiful paradise of jungles. 💕 For 🇰🇪 From the 🇬🇧 💕

I got a sneak peek of the Kangundo Road dual carriageway 👍👍 look forward to a little more coverage after which we can watch the development of the Kenyatta Avenue link to Ngong Road and the bridge on Lang'ata road, right after the expressway in the medium term..

I think that there are landlords who have built on road reserves within the Estates thus making it difficult for modern modest planning, accessibility in cases of emergency etc
