    Nice job as always, and your experience mirrors my own. I think the pan bacon cooked faster because the entire surface of one side of the bacon is in direct contact with the hot pan.

    Just bought this product and now I am going to take it back tomorrow after your review and thank you. The best way I have found to make perfect bacon is with the Nu-Wave Tabletop Convection Oven. You simply lay about 8 strips on the rack, then set on HI for 7 minutes, turn it over and cook another 8 minutes. Fast, easy and eacy cleanup

    So if you read the instructions. quote "for crispy bacon set the rack upside down on the pan with the handles facing upward then place the raw bacon into the slots"

    I did discover that if you take the bacon out 10 to 15 minutes and turn every piece over and continue to cook another 10 to 15 minutes it will come out fully cooked.

    I fry in on the stove. My mother does it in the oven, but I think it tastes different. I agree with you about that product. I don't have the patience to wait 40 minutes for bacon. I can fry it faster than that apparatus by a mile and faster than in the oven as well. But to each his own.

    I make my bacon on my ceramic griddle,then use the leftover grease for my pancakes or eggs depending on what we are having. I also save the excessive grease in a can in my refrigerator to use for fried egg.

    Bed bath does only allow 20% per item unless you get the coupon that says on full order. Also have coupons for 10.00 off item over 30.00. They are now offering like a membership fee of 29.99 a year everything is 20% off for that year no coupon needed. I love that place. Can you tell lol

    I just it my bacon on with this pan. I seen a comment on another video that you supposed to flip the rack over. But that only does 11 pieces. And the booklet days it does 12. But... I'll let you know how that turns out. I don't have high hopes for this any way. 😩

    Exactly what i found! very disappointing! I tried it later with bacon wrapped scallops and the bacon never cooked in there! I had to take them out and put them on a cookie sheet! Ha! my favorite way to make bacon is still to just fry it in a pan and put it on a paper towel --perfect crispiness.

  • @cosmotippy
    @cosmotippy 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is how I cook bacon. Two to three sheets of paper toweling on a plate and then cover the bacon slices with more paper toweling and cook in microwave for a few minutes depending on the amount of bacon. Works great and throw the paper toweling out and put plate in the dishwasher with the other dishes. Easy! I cook eggs quickly that way also by spraying a low mug with non stick and crack an egg for over medium or stir for hard egg and cook about 30 seconds. Slides right out and done for quick breakfast on the run. My mug is the size of muffin and you can see where I go with that. Mickey "D"s as I run. Like your work and I would never purchase one of those items as it is just a fad. My air fryer is great though and makes real great food.

    BTW I noticed the Gotham Bacon ban does have returns so I bought the regular one with the basket for my bake oven. I don't fry much at all and wanted an Air Fryer when I saw this. $19.99 and I love it. So much so I had bed bath and beyond send one to my sister for her bday. They send out for free btw. Anyhow my sister baked a chicken and posted it on FB, it was so pretty. I've made bacon, chicken wings, cauliflower tator tots and pizza rolls to name a few. I didn't want you to be turned off because of this bacon pan. Not many like it.

    Try reading the it before reviewing a product. If you want crispy bacon, the handles should be facing UPWARD. Works great when used correctly.

    • @2centchick
      @2centchick  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      We must have different directions. I just reread the directions and no where does it say the handles should be facing upward. I have seen with other products that after the product has been on the market awhile they update the directions.

    I purchased the Bacon Bonanza. Pretty unhappy with this product. Bacon cooked at the top (I put the fat side up), not in the middle...brilliant idea, I turned all the bacon over to cook the lean side first...ended up cooking 45 minutes and still bacon was not cooked in the middle. Guess old fashion way is the best, at least for bacon.

  • @barflybean
    @barflybean 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    if you fold the foil like an accordian in half inch folds the bacon will sit on top and the fat will drip off into the pan and make it crispy in the oven.

  • @WaterburnerActual
    @WaterburnerActual 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Tks y'all for this vid, cause I'm a bacon-aholic.
    I wonder if the nr of strips makes the noticeable difference.
    Watched another reviewer's vid and she used Thick Sliced, but only cooked 3 strips in every other slot.
    Came out near perfect from how it looked in the vid.
    I kinda like the good ole well seasoned cast iron skillet. But that's just how I grew up, way before MWs.
    One last thing. It seemed like when I was USN, our Mess Management Specialists got bacon (with the occasional Awe, Spit) almost perfect. One of the cooks in our group said it Wasnt In Your Momma's Oven.
    I know it wasn't a toaster oven tho, so I dunno. His wife was a better cook than he was..lol She made killer ribs...the big one, not those itty bitty ones. Fall off the bone, good. Now I'm droolin all over the place!!
    Tks again. See y'all next time.

    Hi! Baked bacon... I don't like bacon, but that's looked like an okay product until you used it. There's an AsSeenOnTV bacon apparatus (BaconWave) that's like minutes. I'm not into the microwave either. You didn't test fakin' acon or turkey bacon. If I make turkey bacon, I use the stove top directions (7-8 minutes) or dice it and cook it in an omelette on slow heat. This ain't gonna be a raincheck item. Lolz :)

      oh i hear ya on that, thats why i would never put in a oven it would splatter and start a fire. they do have splatter screens for frying pans but if you were going to fry some up on a open fire who cares about the mess its going into the fire, and i only use a charcoal grill so no big mess to clean up there either.

    • @Scott_Atlanta
      @Scott_Atlanta 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      ken strampe bacon in an oven on a cooling rack (not how they did it in the video) is easy and much more even than a pan. As far as splatter - you haven’t tried it so you don’t know that this is completely wrong.
