Thanks for showing my plugin, I hope it's OK I link to this video at the first forum post of this plugin on Unraid. Even though the plugin has changed quite a bit since you made this video, it's still helpful. Thanks
@@madtc74 I don't think I asked my question correctly. I understand how to change the layout and have done that. I have an existing server and want to know which drive is which, but I have no blinking lights to verify them. I assume I'm out of luck and must unplug each drive & reboot to determine which one is which.
@@af-flyboy that one way, but honestly you can tell by the serial number on your drives. they will match the serial number on the tray allocations. You could also look at the path and the node to get additional information.
Mad props for making the video!
thanks

I do not mind. I think it is a great plugin.
you are awesome
thanks.
Is there a different way to locate drives that are not hot-swappable and have no blinking lights? Mine are in a standard full size tower. Thanks.
Yes - you can change the layout of your disks to match the drives in your tower at the configuration of bays around the 2-minute mark.

@@af-flyboy good luck
So when I scan I get SMART reporting UNKNOWN skipped for each device.
Did you check to make sure it was enabled in your BIOS?
Thank you, very helpful!
Glad it helped.
