There are a few planes that the trim adjusts the control surfaces instead of a tab, I can’t remember what plane it was that I flew back in the ‘90s that was that way, maybe the diamond katana (maybe not, I just remember that plane having a lot of unusual characteristics)? It’s certainly an exception rather than the norm.
I don’t even have a flight sim game but I enjoy watching and learning about flying in these videos. It’s fascinating to me how we defy the law of gravity by utilization of other laws of physics. You’re a great teacher.

Jeff, if you ever fly into Sedona IRL, I recommend you approach high in an underpowered plane like a C152 or 172, there is a nasty combination of updrafts followed by butt clenching down drafts off the ends of that runway. Technically not good airmanship, but it beats the upholstery cleaning fees. I’ve done a few flights into Sedona as it was one of my favorite destinations (good restaurant in the terminal) and it doesn’t seem like fs2020 really captures that. Great breakfast run from Phoenix, depart in reasonable temps and you only have to deal with the 100+ temps when you return home.

It took me around 12 hours to install it but it never had any problems. I was downloading at Around 3.5 MB/s but that's because my ISP needs to replace my modem since it's signal is too low, it's a deffective modem.
Yeah i got mine from steam as well. It would install for abt 30 minutes. Then freeze. Id close the app. Wait a moment. Reopen it and begin the download for it to kick start again. Had to do that over and over all night for it to finnish this morning.
Honestly the flight trainer genuinely helped me out, I installed the game yesterday and I already know how to solo flight, use all instruments and land. It feels so good!!

Do you know Matt Guthmiller's vlogs? He travels around on his plane in real life. He made a journey from the states to England on a Cessna. It would be pretty interesting to watch that with this sim. I hope they have/add more advanced training modules. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't any new training modules after completing the Cessna 152 training.

Interesting that they've made some changes to these missions. Straight and level flight is now a stand alone and they have you reduce to 2000rpm. There is a constant pull to the right which I assume is present to keep you around the airport. When I correct for that and fly straight it yells at me for leaving the training airspace...
It looks amazing and I'm probably just being picky but why release a product that is half-finished, ie inoperable buttons ? I think I'll wait until a study-level PMDG/ZIBO mod aircraft comes out.

Awesome video. I'm a total noob to any flight sim as I've never played one before. I have no idea how to fly the Boeing, and the game doesn't teach you either. Like you have that computer inside inputting destination etc. Looks really complicated.

Jeff any ideas of when the helicopters will appear? Surprised they didn’t already have some like they did in the previous iterations of flight simulator but the game will allow third-party developers to create aircraft and then sell them so I hope that somebody will make a helicopter at some point because it’s very hard to go see your house or other things in a plane where you can’t hover like you could in a helicopter. Any thoughts Jeff About why they didn’t put helicopters or if you think that somebody will create some? Thanks!
Hey Jeff Thanks for sharing another great video. Sadly that similar to xplane, it puts plane too high in the landing tutorial. I have a quick question on landing, I was learning landing skills from different videos and still not sure should I put power to idle after the runway number just disappears. I can have successful landing when pulling yoke out and reducing throttle little by little at the same time. But I am not sure if this is correct way to do that. When I try to put throttle to idle after runway no. disappears, I couldn’t have a successful landing.
So Jeff, you never mentioned in this video how you are flying the plane. What are you using to control the plane? Sorry, really brand new to flight sims and wonder what I need to make the planes go. Cannot afford nor do I have space for a full yoke setup so I am looking for a cheap alternative. Any suggestions?

I just started redowloading again due to installation issues, at the lovely rate of 7mbps! That’s in megabits, in megabytes it’s 0.875 per second. It’s been running for almost 12 hours and I’ve only downloaded 8.28GB. Kill me.
That landing was set up correctly actually. I have 150 hours in the 150/152 and when you drop flaps in that thing, it sinks like a rock. It’s nearly impossible to hold glide path in my opinion. It’s more comfortable with a steeper rate of descent. just my thoughts!
I don't know who built your C152, but when I flew a Cessna 152 (2 times) whenever I dropped the flaps it barely moved lol you must have been going too slow or something?
when it comes to reading the altimeter, I understand that it is basically like an analog clock with a minute hand and hour hand. hour hand is thousands, minute hand is hundreds , but what is the really thin needle on it, in other words, what does the second hand represent on the altimeter?
What do you use to look around? Are you using an eye tracker or something? Cuz it doesn’t look like you’re using the mouse to do it, would love to be able to look around a lot more without having to be clunky with the controls and take my hand off the stick to move my mouse or adjust my camera all the time
Do you have a tutorial that is even more basic? I'm a complete beginner and struggling with this game. Can't maintain a cruising altitude, plane constant going all over the place. Don't even know how to use trim. A need an absolute beginners guide
It looks like they've tossed these lessons, and come up with a new set in recent updates. If anything, the new ones are worse -- in the lesson on attitude and power management, they start you off at about 4,200 feet while telling you you are at 5,500, then tell you to use trim to hold the current altitude, then fail you for being too low.

Just got MSFS. But can't get control of the plane, the co pilot keeps control
