I Love the fact that Matt - even if he is full of energy like a little foal - he is careful enough when you are going around in treasure places, churches or shops - he does not demolish, ruin anything - only carefully touches or admires beautiful things and objects. Love Biot! Was there many years ago while staying in Antibes. Brought several pieces home as well as a ring from a jeweler that I’ve worn ever since. Magical little town.
It was lovely to see Biot, it brought back happy memories. Thank you. I have stayed there twice once as an 18 year old, 46 years ago, when we camped for a month just outside the village and a second time in my early twenties when we stayed in a small dependence adjacent to a villa on the outskirts of the village. It was pretty then but so much prettier now with all the flowers and unsurprisingly more developed, though even then there were lovely restaurants.

Matt has grown up so much. He is so cute, I love when he just keeps talking in French. By the French is number one sweetest language then Farci in my opinion. I am just mesmerized by all these beautiful villages. Can't wait to visit Provance again next year.
A very pretty village. I have watched glassblowers and helped them make stringers. That large oven is around 2500 degrees. I took classes in lamp working and glass fusing because the colors are so beautiful. Matt is full of energy and adds to your videos his enthusiasm. I appreciate hearing you speak both English and French and enjoy you letting us tag a long with you on your journeys.

I think this is absolutely beautiful little village. loved this little tour.
My parents used to take me here when I was 7 in 1966 and I am now 64. We used to go every year and camp in the campsites below the village. We are planning to go back there this year in memory of my parents. Thanks for sharing and I am glad that it has retained it's charm. 😍😎👬 The Church brought tears to my eyes ❤️

Hello, my weekend has just got so much better from watching your video. Each time we visited Antibes we would visit Biot for the day. Such a beautiful village, very peaceful and calm. The glass blowing place used to be in the centre of the village, it was always an experience to watch such craftsmen at work. They must have moved to a better site as the business has grown. So many memories for me, thank you so much for sharing.😀👏👏

Well, I have to leave a comment. J'ay mal au qoeur moi. I discovered your channel just a few days ago and now see this. In the early to mid 1980s, I lived, mostly worked, 5 minutes outside of Biot.
As a result, I know the region fairly well.
The scenery, the way you speak, like a chanson to me, it brings back so many memories. The life, the smell of the pin parasol, the foods, all so common to you but so extraordinary to most of us.
I am from the Netherlands, spend time in Italy on the lago Maggiore as a child for a few years, and lived in Switserland on the shores of Lac Leman, better known as lake Geneva, before moving to the côte.
Your region in France is very special. I learned that the real Côte d'azur stretches from Menton to Cannes. That area has special weather due to a horseshoe shaped mountain range running inland from the one city to the other.
The area from Nice to Grasse and then to Cannes, is called the golden triangle.
It's history and architecture is magnificent.
As I mentioned earlier, the sound of the local French language is special too. Its softer, more gentle. Much different from the north, east, and center of the country.
After France, work brought me to the United States where I have lived eversince.
Fond memories are competing between my time in your region and my childhood time in northern Italy.
Thank you for sharing your life, your family, and your unique region with us.
Of course I will subscribe and continue to admire what you chose to show us next.

Thank you for your work, Aselya! I have visited Biot last year after accidentally watching french movie "Crime a Biot".)) Beautiful, not really touristy village and even easy to travel there with the public transport (train+bus) from Nice. The glass ateliers are the must!

Wow! What a charming village. For such a small place, there is a lot to see! (mon premier mari était un artiste doué et souffleur de verre de Murano - he would have loved the Biot atelier). He helped me make a few animal figurines and 'abstract' goddess sculptures. If you and Matt ever have the opportunity to learn how to create with glass, go for it!!! It is so much fun! I used to practice 'lampworking' at home (outside). I made jewelry from the glass beads.
I think Matt will be a talented photographer just like you! He is learning how to see beauty!

Thank you for taking us to Biot! What a lovely little village! I love that there are so many artists living there. I think you will enjoy the glassblowing experience, when you return to try it (yes, go in Fall or Winter). I have done the tourist experience like that in Okinawa and it is very easy for you, as the participant. The aides/artists tell you what to do and they do most of the dangerous and skilled parts. Recently, I have been taking classes with my local glassblower in the San Francisco area of California and it is a complex process, but fascinating! I am not very good at all, but always appreciate what comes of my efforts. Enjoy!

I am from Waterford and just moved back to live here 2 weeks ago after 40 years living in London.
Sadly the big Waterford Glass factory closed down years ago and now they have a small showroom where they still show how it was made but not on the same scale as years ago when it was much in demand.
