What an extraordinary chateau!! Such lovely touches everywhere you look!! The Orangerie is so charming with the lofty ceiling & stunning chandelier!! What a cute reenactment of a former "lady of the house" coming down for breakfast!! The generous use of green in this room works so well!! You both found what seems to me to be the perfect home for your design ideas & personalities!! Thanks so much for the tour!! Loved it!! 🇺🇸
Would be hilarious to turn that little bathroom into a confessional with a pass through to the wine cellar for passing bottles of wine to the person in the bathroom for penance. 😂😂
I just pretty recently discovered your channel. I don’t know why the algorithms didn’t throw your channel up earlier because I have watched all of the Château folks. You guys are such fun and you have excellent taste even though your lamps are not tall enough as I said on another video. You must have them taller with such high ceilings. Now I will go back and look at all your videos and give you like. You two are delightful!
@@barbaramccarroll9540 funnily enough we looked into that but couldn’t find a company that would make it to measure as the measurements are so large! We are thinking about one up the back staircase though
You might get a dwarf lemon tree to go with the orange tree. You can make lemonade or lemon tort with them. You could also put some espalies against those walls. They would look good and much less trouble than any viny things.
Thanks for the tour of your home. It's going to be beautiful when it's finished. Watching you from the Southern Tier of the Catskill Mountains in Upstate New York USA
If other chatelains arent kidding when they say Chateau DIY doesnt pay then it is a bit of a shame they they are holding back progress and part of your "journey" back from your vlog, Looking good :)
Yes sadly we aren't paid but it's hopefully good publicity for when we open for business. We have so many jobs to do, the filming doesn't really hold us up, it just changes the order of the work we do so that they can catch lots of content that will hopefully make for a great show. When the crew are filming things slow down a bit but we think i'll be worth it!
Hello from Nashville, Tennessee! This is a great video to save and look back on in about a year! You both are doing such a wonderful job! I am glad that you are taking your time and doing things that you love in your home! All my best, Y’all!
Thanks for your support Fred, we've got ourselves a bit more organised with the videos now too, so hopefully editing them won't take so long and we can post the updates more regularly.
Without the overhead glass, an Orangerie won’t have enough light for the orange tree to grow. He should plant the orange tree in a pot that you can bring in for the winter where it might survive with the side windows, but can be moved out into the full sun for the summer.
Phil, from Chateau Life, is saying he’s selling off a lot of excess furniture. So you might want to connect with him if you’re in need of beautiful beds, chairs, etc.
Did you receive a certificate from the people you bought your property from for you fire safety I think it is law in France every fire place should have a certificate of safety on purchase of property
Ivy is VERY destructive to buildings, think about removing it and putting in virginia creeper 'Vigne Vierge) which are nowhere near as invasive, or a climbing rose, or clematis, another is the japanese wisteria which isn't as invasive, and it flowers throughout the spring summer season..there is a company in France selling those, 'glycine toujours fleuri'!!! p.s. the Marie Antoinette hairstyle went out of fashion in the 1780's (50 years before the construction) and didn't come back until the 1960's (See Hairspray) and later revisited by the B-52's.....
You sink has like China grooves this is once you soap your washing you rub your clothes against the groove to get the clean I can remember my mother with a washing board that she used to put in the sink to wash her clothes can you imagine she had seven children no washing machine no central heating And no vacuam cleaner how did she cope I will never know but her motto was early to bed early to rise that’s how she had seven children
Getting the Audio right is a real pain, learning as we go though so hopefully we'll learn to avoid the pitfalls that make it a bit crackly or quiet. Hope you enjoyed the vid anyway!

Thank you, always interesting to see the layout.
Thanks for the tour guys, looking forward to part 2.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for your supportive comment!

Thanks I watched his video. I think they are probably a bit far away but they were getting rid of some nice stuff!
So far, so good.
Seems more the size of a petite salon.
The dining room…..
the staircase skirting leave as it is and maybe fake marble it just a thought
Fun idea, I think I have plans to make our own skirting though

Have to get one every year, just had one a couple of months ago

Good tips, we'll rip it down and check out Vigne Vierge and wisteria. Oh dear, she must have been a bit behind the times ;-)
Or very fashion forward, depending on how you look at it!

That’s serious hard work!
Camera too far away. Can't see or understand your discussion sound could be louder
The sound is perfect on my iPad!
