Absolutely not, the Republicans won't even bring it to the floor for a vote. They use one excuse after another. Maybe now they will because they are playing games with our economy and more. This is a do nothing Congress. I live in ranch country and have watched this bill closely. What we need is for both sides to work together for the good of all, not what they can use for political gain. Democrats have been willing to vote with what ever Republicans would vote for it but still here we are because they sit on the bill. Try loosing $85,000 in one week, I bet it would wipe you out. That's what my rancher friends lost and are still loosing as they sit on the bill. Now they have a bipartisan bill. Question is, will the Republicans get iff their a**?
It isn't Biden doing this, it's Congress playing games. Republicans have decided sitting on the bill would allow them to use it for political gain. Ranchers and farmers depend on the Farm Bill to survive. If we loose our ranchers and farmers hang on to your hat because everything will get more expensive as big corporations gobble up their farms and ranches. Now there is a bipartisan bill and hopefully Trump won't make another call to kill this bill like he did the Bipartisan Border Bill and the Peace Agreement in Gaza. Ranchers are loosing money every week in amounts that would put you in the poorhouse. Enough is enough. Get off your asses and get it done!

Factory farms have killed family farms. Costs of materials and equipment outweigh profits. Government consistently order farmers to destroy product if there is a "surplus." Prime crop lands are either being turned into solar/wind farms or suburbs and apartments.

Corn, soybean, cotton, and wheat. That is all most farmers grow today. Very few farms produce directly edible foods, i.e. vegetables and fruit. The USDA has made those staple crops (corn & soybean) the only profitable crop because they subsidize theses crops. Farmers have difficulty growing human food, green beans, broccoli, cabbage, lettuce, tomatoes, etc., at a profit. Why? Because these vegetables are being imported and sold for a lower cost than our farmers can compete with, even though these are imported from around the world on cargo ships the use more than 300,000 gallons of diesel each for a one-way trip. This makes NO sense! Do SOMETHING so we can grow our own HUMAN food here. Tarriff the imported foods and give that tax money to small farms to subsidize those growing directly edible human food for local and national markets.

We need a hard look at real estate. It needs to stay in local hands, not foreign ownership, not national private equity, before bailing out towering genetics and chemical companies, financial institutions or individuals. Land lost to one producer must be sold to LOCAL BEGINERS, regardless of equity lost by the financial institutions.
We need to grow/raise our own food. Keep it in and for America. We can do this if the government would stop making it impossible. All the HOA's need to allow gardens and let people keep a few chickens in neat clean backyard coops. Take some pride in caring for ourselves and quit worrying about how trash cans are lined up or the color of a mailbox.
The Pa Dept of Ag stated in court that they control all food, even what you raise in your back yard, and they can make unannounced inspections of your personal refrigerator any time they desire, and confiscate anything they don't approve of.

We have only the statements made by Amos' lawyer, Robert Barnes, the judge confiscated the reporters written notes when they left the court room.
My statements arose because not only did they stop Amos from selling in PA, also stopped him from mailing to other states, and even stopped he and his family from consuming their food.

The Farm Bill /USDA has become so bloated in what it covers. Support for farmers is vitally important but the welfare programs tied up in the bill muddy the waters (SNAP, WIC and Rural Housing loan assistance).
Any talk about ending the foreign interests buying up farm land and abusing water rights? Any talk about encouraging farm/agricultural education (the average farmer is near retirement )? Any talk about our pork industry being owned by China? What about the decade severe droughts across the midwest? So many actual problems in our ag industry but I just don't know that this bill addresses any of them.

Farmers sell to the highest bidder, so if China gives a better price for wheat, then the wheat goes to China and our prices go up because of the scarcity.

The farm bill is what broke farming. Specialization caused mono streams of revenue leaving farmers un diversified and at risk. Consolidation of processing allowed farmers to be bullied and markets to be manipulated. It pushes farms to produce the crops that are included in the protections of the farm bill, instead of what is most suitable for their environment. Every day we eat products produced with derivates of soybeans that were grown in areas where they have to be sprayed with desiccants like paraquat, a chemical linked to Parkinson’s disease, because the climate there does not trigger the plants to die off
We over produce and spend a lot of money doing it, just so we can get lower prices, yet the price the consumer is high, where does that money go? What about all the hidden costs to everyone? Medical bills, high insurance rates, diabetes, autism?
The companies who process the food producers grow are all tobacco industry transplants who jumped ship when their crap finally caught up to them.
I am a farmer. At scale, not a hobby farmer. We produce organically without tilling the land. We’re doing ok, but we’re forced to compete with “organic” products that come in to this country without any supervision or certification as it is being produced. We have a gallows humor as organic American producers. “Throw a load of grain on a ship and let it float long enough, it will magically become organic before it gets here.”
