I feel like something Hopoo could've done was changed the mithrix fight specifically for eclipse, and maybe added some modifiers that changed it more significantly. Would've made Eclipse a much more recognizable thing and E1 a much bigger change compared to Monsoon
I agree, but on a larger scale, I would've liked to see E1 changed all the movesets for enemies and stuff. Really make it it's own mode

I think the important thing with mods like the purity/bloom swap is just that it's fun. It doesn't really matter whether it makes the game a little easier as long as you enjoy using it :)
I KNEW this run with the swapped Purity/Bloom was going to happen sometime, just wasn't expecting on Viend, i still think that those exchanged rarities make a lot more sense that what we have currently (and also because Bloom's disadvantage is actually lunar-worthy lol)

dude after watching race vids and listening to advice i have been first trying eclipse runs more often than not. I think I've got around a 70-80 percent win rate at this point.
I must say, it took me a really long time to get my Commando E1 (my first e1). My huntress E1 was two runs afterwards, and the rest of e1 wasn't too bad after that. E2 and onward haven't been too bad either. I'm now up to e3 on all classes and working on e4. I assume I was just getting used to the game still on e1, and the later levels I've only had to learn the new complexities
Having Purity and Bloom swap places also makes Bloom way better in my opinion as you can pick it up without having to worry that an item might get transformed into a Clover as Clovers are not converted into Bloom anymore. The -1 Luck is also not that bad with Bloom, because you can still get a clover, and Bloom makes it even easier to get one.

I don’t have any plans or ambitions for eclipse, I just play it for fun. My first eclipse win was one of the best gaming experiences in my life, it was such a high, so I’ll just keep playing as long as it’s fun. That’s what I like about this game mode. And looks like you’re having fun too.
And for our current news for console ROR2 we have reports stating that Xi construct continue to shake uncontrollably after spawning. We attempted to get some imput on the situation from a larva but it fell through the ground after trying to attack. And back to Race for for his opinion on stealing, 20:23
I’ve been starting that e8 grind and I am locked at three. No fall damage issues just being overwhelmed by enemies regardless of how much I circle, may just need speed idk

Or maybe, the people who are watching Race play RoR2 and defeat Umbral Mithrix, maybe these people want to see you succeed through a challenge.
But in general: If it's bad but it's fun, it's fun to watch.

Hi Race, I've got a question regarding both games RoRR and ROR2. Can I still unlock items with the Artifact of Command equipped or do I need to have the items unlocked beforehand, cause there are items which unlock when they drop from a chest.
Hi Race. Any advice on fighting Mithrix with low movement speed? I have some runs where I only get 1 or 2 movement speed items by the end of stage 5 and although I have more than enough damage I feel like I have to loop just to get some more movement speed/feathers to be able to avoid Mithrix's attacks. I made it to eclipse 8 and I feel like I'm really crutching on 1 or 2 safer spaces trivializing Mithrix fight or just 5+ movement speed items to just social distance from all his attacks.

Edit: To be more specific, it's mostly the attack where he swings his hammer sideways/diagonally that I get hit by the most
advanced strategies are baiting out his swings. its important to know which attacks of his are predictive and use that to your advantage. a feint step and back can work great and makes you feel in control. using height to bait out swings is a great method too since he doesnt understand verticality, just horizontal positioning. understanding how to make him use his stamina is the goal of the fight. stay near the edges of the arena so you can jump over him too. i hope that can help you and good luck

When you were talking about crit, you said that it’s good to have crit but not necessarily crit glasses. Are you saying that it’s a good idea to rely on predatory instincts/scythe/shatterspleen on their own? I was just a bit confused there.
One example of glasses not being good is on Bandit, because he naturally has 100% crit when attacking from behind, so glasses are less valuable on him specifically, you would prefer other items instead of glasses. Possibly there's other similar cases where glasses have less value, but I'm not sure.
Scythe specifically is not worth it in most cases, as it only gives 5% crit despitebeing a green item - the healing is negligible in E8 (and not amazing in Monsoon either), so the crit chance is the only value, and less than glasses, a white item!

How do the odds work with atg when you have purity? I know it rerolls the odds again in favor of negative, but it seems like it still doesn't kill the item completely.

E8 removes one shot protection yes, people get too comfy with having it

probably the only time i'm gonna slightly disagree with Race about treating E1 as E8 (pls don't hate me) - for people like me, I best learn through mistakes - i record all my runs and I know when I do stuff wrong and when i don't know I learn from it and rarely repeat it - i can read the guides and watch vods but my tiny brain simply can't process it enough in the moment, so i treat it as it comes
all other tips i do follow like switching chars to mix things up - this has been huge for me as learning one can really improve your play on another
but i'm only 800 hrs in and not e8 gold yet so what do i know :P
everyone learns through methods of their own, my process helps a lot of people get through faster if it works for them, if it doesn't no big deal. keep up the good work
