Ballerina for 19 years here. The Trocederos don't make fun of ballet. They are extremely talented and dedicated dancers themselves. This sort of comedy ballet is more of an homage to the original works and includes nods to the original choreographers and dancers. Besides, not all ballet has to be serious. Personally, I wish that more companies would do pieces like this.
These are some of the greatest dancers on Earth!! I've seen their show three times in different cities and each time they never fail to leave you laughing and crying! If you ever get the chance to see them, do it!! You will not be dissappointed!
The one thing you have to admire is how this comedy is choreographed.
How to preform this dance, with the feathers dropping, how to coordinate dropping them in motion of the dance without dropping them all while making these movements.
I love the Trockaderos!!!!!

hands down, that costume out does the serious dance theaters! Just magnificent with the feathers falling!!

LOL! I loved that dress!!! must be hell having to put those feathers for each performance and clean up the stage but it's soooo worth it!
I think before you can parody something you have to be a true 'master' of the original. If done well, like in this piece, a spoof can be the greatest tribute there is

I love this version - the version by Ida Nevaseyneva is brilliant too. I think Maya got her diva skills from Ida 😀

Not a smart question, but I'd be glad to help. This is the famous "Dying Swan" of Camille Saint-Saens. It part of a suite, which more vivacious, called "The Carnivale des Animals"
Quit being angry and ignorant people haha. Hello, it's called CONTEMPORARY BALLET. I think it's an awesomely pioneering thing they're doing (the ballet company, Les Ballets Trockadero I believe?), venturing so far as to brilliantly spoof classical ballets without sacrificing the talent in their feet. Love it and love them! Hope to one day come see them!

@wolfjeismylovelycat Trocadero is an all male ballet company, where even the female roles are played by male dancers. That's why the humor, and the intentionally "bad" (i.e. drag queen) makeup

@loulie1997 um. obviously all of the audience loved it and paid to see it, as evidenced by their vocalized enjoyment.

@loulie1997 And don't you think is THEIR passion too? Don't you think that they know every single original ballet piece that they dance? and better that any one of us. Ballet is my passion too, I start dancing at 3 years old and I have seen this one from Anna Pavlova to Natalia Makarova even in video it moves me, that doesn't mean that I close myself to diferent interpretations, they don't make fun, that's just what you want to believe.

The fact that a man can dance that great in pointe shoes is already awesome, this is a show not a serious ballet. You may not like it and is valid, everyone has a diferent opinion, but stupid and offensive??, you're just been racist because is not the same thing you have know to begin with.
