Tough call. If your attorney can show it was of no fault of your own, the bond could be reinstated. However, it depends on how long it has been since the bond was either forfeited or held insufficient. If you wait too long, the bond will go into NISI - meaning the judge cannot reinstate the bond. This would require a new bond. If the new bond is set at a high amount, your lawyer would have to file a motion to set reasonable bond with a hearing showing you cannot afford it and that you would not be a flight risk. There are a lot of moving parts
Well it was my son and he failed to appear in court twice and wasn't paying his bond on time but the judge is the one who surrendered the bond and raised it higher.... And thank you so much for responding it's a lot to deal with and we r trying our best
Great question - this is where the bondsman will hopefully work with you to offset the cost. Legally, if the bond is dropped to a lesser amount, the bondsman is on the hook for much less with the court. You would HOPE they would be reasonable and agree to modify their fee they are charging you. This highlights the importance of choosing a good bondsman that will be honest with you and fair. Thank you for asking this question.
Surety Bonds are not refundable, got it.
Interesting video. I had no idea a criminal attorney could post a bond and save money
Thank you!
For the bond reduction example you used, what if the lawyer is a public defender? Is that considered a surety bond? If so, is it refundable?
In Texas what happens if a judge raises your bond for failure to appear how likely is it that you can get it reduced

So I was wondering how likely he would lower it since he was the one who raised it to what it is and it's only been about 3weeks
What happens if you pay the bailbondsman 5000 to bond someone out and then the bond is reduced to 2500 after you paid?

Does this mean if I post a cash bond I can be released without being on pretrial supervision?
Unfortunately, no.
Great video, just started working at a bail bonds office. Any advice for a bond agent trying to make as much sales + profit ?
