Don't underestimate film. Depending on used camera film can outperform 2K/2,5K and even 3K digital cameras. Especially when it comes to converting to 4K.
Never saw this movie. But I want the 4K with the bowling ball and bag. I’m a huge bowler myself. Averaging 211 right now. Have 3 300 games and high series of 765. Been doing it since I was 14. I’m 27 now
Bro, can you explain to me why UHD Blu Ray movies look so dark?? I just bought this Big Lebowski 4kBR, and regular blu ray looks fine - colors being bright and so on. But 4kUHD blu ray is so dark, its like tvs backlight been turned down ( even tho it wasn't)/ Like am looking in a dark cave. I get that HDR is not about making everything brighter + all this talk about deeper blacks, but maaan, wtf? i feel my eye sight being diminished watching this picture. Is it just me or what? I have a number of films on both 4kUHD and regular BluRay format, and in all cases regular blu ray is brighter/
HDR is sometimes going to be darker, it provides more dynamic range so colors between white and black so you will get dimmer areas with greater definer detail rather than blown out

Will pick this one up for sure! Can't get enough catalogue titles on 4K! I check blu-ray.com multiple times a day for new announcements haha.. It's been kinda slow recently though.
Glad to hear this classic turned out well, this is one of my favorite 90's comedies next to Dumb and Dumber and O Brother Where Art Thou. I wish they gave movies like T2 this kind of respect when doing a transfer.

I don't know if streaming video has improved recently, but streaming has normally not been able to match the quality of the disc. Why don't you just buy the disc anyway? It's much better to own a physical copy.
This disc suffers from extreme yellow. Does the iTunes version have that issue? If so, it's probably the same transfer. If it has excess DNR (clayface) then it's probably the Blu transfer.

This would be the fourth time I picked this movie up since I bought three versions of it on Blu-ray (the Pop-Art cover edition, the normal standard edition and a SteelBook version of it). I should’ve kept off on the Blu-ray SteelBook version of it (which as I’m writing this I currently own because it was on sale at FYE and one I donated to a nearby Goodwill and one I gave to a friend) and waited for the 4K but who cares I’ll trade it at my nearby record store in for some money along with some other Blu-ray titles to sell that I don’t need.
I was hoping that this didn’t let me down but thanks for your review! No one like Blu-ray.com or High Def Digest has reviewed it yet as I’m writing this. Hopefully this weekend they’ll have their reviews up.

Change your TV settings man. 4K is still in its starting stage. Same thing happened with Blu-ray when it first came out.

Does anyone know if this is the same 4K that is available on the Apple iTunes Store? Meaning same transfer quality?
