Love your videos…. So impressed with your DIY hair cutting skills, I’m too intimidated to do mine, mine is kind of thick (thankfully it’s recovered since the pandemic where I lost A LOT of hair!) and that makes it more of a challenge for a beginner, I think…..I do LOVE watching you do yours though!
thanks for taking the time to make your videos. i have learned so much from you. you do a great job cutting hair and sectioning along with your makeup tutorials. i like all the haircut videos if have seen of yours. thanks.
I am 81. I was raised in my mother’s beauty shop and as I got older I did her hair. Then I began to do my own because I was always unhappy with others. I still do my own haircuts just like you showed. I have an adjustable wall mirror so I can cut the back. I wear my hair very short in a neckline and gets lots of compliments and questions about where i get my hair done!
I have been cutting my own hair since Covid-19 hit. Just going straight around and hoping for the best. This has been very helpful and I am going to try your hints and still hope for the best. Thanks.
You did a very good job. I have cut my own hair many times. You just have to take your time and think about what you need to do. Thank goodness I don’t have to do that anymore because my youngest son is a very good hairdresser. My problem now is getting an appointment when he has time to do my hair. But you really do a good job on your hair.
I also do my own hair. 😬 Most of the time, it turns out okay but one time I had to go to the salon to rescue me from my mistake. 😳 Cutting your own hair is very liberating. I ended up cutting 28 inches off during the quarantine. Look forward to new videos. You’re gorgeous.
Always love watching your videos - you are FEARLESS!! You’re right about the back but I’m not sure watching your technical exactly WHY the back came out uneven because you’re usually really good at doing the back but you’re right you can just get someone to even that up for you. I also noticed as it got shorter the CURL in your hair seemed to come out a bit more, which surprised me because I’ve always thought of your hair as straight like mine. ❤️
Tanja, thank you so much! I added this video under my "favorites". I have been cutting my hair for many years, and mostly in a classic bob. This haircut is great and you did a beautiful job on it! I'm 65 and embracing my gray hair for the first time, and I may cut my hair into this amazing style!!
great haircut, and youthful. thanks so much for sharing your techniques they really help and make it user friendly. layering is always tricky and this really helps. my twin sister has me cutting her hair. grooming makes a person feel better.
My mom was brave like you. She pierced our ears with an ice cube, needle and string, gave us perms, cut our hair, whatever we needed she did it. I think that’s very brave. I’m way to chicken of messing up. I get all fumble fingers trying to cut in a mirror. It looks really great. 👏🏻👏🏻💗😊
I think you did a great job. I trim on my hair also but haven't given myself a full haircut. I do have fairly short hair so I am afraid to tackle it. After watching you I may try it.
I always cut my hair between going to salon; use the same method you do. Just hard to cut the back like I want it. You did a good job, looks very nice.
I use masking tape around my head to smooth down the hair and make a level line. Stick it around to your cheeks I also use a nightlight cap tied to keep every thing in its place. 🇨🇦
I did the same thing, have been cutting my hair at home for some time. I was looking to be sure that what you were doing would allow for some flip. I do not like the curved under look on me. I go another step and take the ends, curving them upward and nipping them off. It's the opposite of an undercut. I don't know if it has a name. I did get somewhat of a "ducktail" when I held the back hair over to the side to cut. I only notice it when I take a shower. I may try holding the hair out and slightly upward for a little more layering, without a ducktail. Then taking that same hair, grasping the ends and curving the ends upward in-between two fingers and nipping the ends off. This does help to create flip. I wonder why no one is cutting this style, that I have found on TH-cam. I also wonder why my hairdressers have no clue, anymore, what I want. I learned this method from a hairdresser in the 80's. I am over 70, so holding the hair out from the middle of the back of my hair is difficult. [gets easier when I lift weights, ladies!]
I am 77 years old and have been cutting my own hair off and on since I was a teenager. The last time I went to a beauty shop I was 21 y/o. I also have been cutting my husbands hair since then as well.
My husband cuts his own hair and does a wonderful job. I will show him your videos and see if we can do this cut on my hair. I enjoy my hair stylist, but I'd appreciate saving the $65 I spend for a cut. What company makes your glasses frame? I need new glasses and these may work well for me.
Why didn't you go to beauty school? It seems like styling hair is in your calling! It's never too late to do what you already love and then make it your business in your own salon or your own Beauty School where others could benefit from your god given talent!
I was going to suggest you get an Adjustable Height Floor Standing Make-Up Mirror. I bought one 20 years or more ago. I paid like $45 for it. It's invaluable for hands-free styling my hair in the back. Or cutting my own hair. It has a regular mirror on one side and magnifying on the flipside. I did a quick Google search and was floored at what they are priced at now ($400 and up). Insane the price got jacked up so high. I'm going to have to be extra careful now that nothing happens to it. Geez! When I cut my own hair, I lay a newspaper across my sink, to catch all the clippings. And I stand on an old bed sheet I set aside for the purpose. Then I just fold up the newspaper and toss it. Then I fold up the sheet and take it out to the garbage can and give it a good shake. Less mess. Your hair turned out pretty good.
I so love your confidence! I imagine you approach life's challenges with this same sassy confrontation. I love how it came out; especially the layers!
Thanks for the detailed video- helps to make it easier to follow. Love the end result.
You are halfway through, i can tell how adorable it's going to look!! Tanja, it looks great!!!
Plus, you do a wonderful job yourself and you save money!!!
I needed a trim and your post helped me so much in doing it myself. It turned out nice and was easy to do. Thank you!

Try putting an old towel across your sink and let the hair fall in that then shake it off in the trash.
Great job! You did an amazing job!
You did a great job! I understand fully the rational for cutting your own hair. You have nice hair.
Thank you! Really useful video, and the end result looks great!👍
Great tutorial. Yr hair looks great. Thanks for sharing 🙏

You give me courage.

You are one brave woman :)
Is she though ? Haircut does cost that much
That's lovely!
Better than any salon . ❤
I use masking tape around my head to smooth down the hair and make a level line. Stick it around to your cheeks I also use a nightlight cap tied to keep every thing in its place. 🇨🇦
You did a great job on your hair
You did beautiful job
Looks great!!😊
Looks great!
I use a comb and a hair clipper underneath it for the back , that is soooooo much more convenient than cutting it with scissors.
Cute, I'm headed for my mirror.
Great job!
I love it!
looks beautiful

Gorgeous 😍
Nice job, from someone who occasionally cuts her own hair also.

Glasses are Scetchers/ Walmart SE1674-1
Love the hubby helping cut your hair 💡idea.
Use clippers its faster and better on neckline
I like it could you show me how you cut your bangs? 😊
Hello,
There are 2 videos on that.

What kind of sizzors do you use?
Cricket Logos from Sally Beauty Supply
Nice
I always do my hair myself
I save time and money
When that is a good job but I will not try it as the back is not easy
Thank you, this is true.
Shouldn’t stretch the hair before wet cut what I was told
You are brave…but the back shouldn’t be longer than the front….not a good profile.
Need to get the middle of the back.
I would put a bandage 🩹 on it
The next time, please put rings on your fingers, then you shall not to cut your fingers.
Why don’t you have your sister cut your hair?
Well, she has her clients already, and it just like cutting my own hair.
*Promo sm* ❣️
I use a plastic bag in sink
Too slow
Why rush it?
@@mandymaney6856 talks too much
I didn’t notice. Are you a Professional stylist
Great job!
