Dr. Leaf, This is the best video I have seen from you, not because of the content, but because you have slowed down the pace of your speech to a level that can be readily understood. With other videos I've seen, you spoke far too quickly for me to understand. Thank You.

I just discovered you today! I
L❤VE your content! I have cptsd, mostly from an extremely traumatic childhood (ACE score 10/10) but also many traumas in my adulthood as well. I suffer from chronic health struggles, conversion disorder, pain, fibromyalgia, nerve damage, kidney infections, migraines, honestly the list goes on and on. Most recently, since discovering my husband's infidelity in Aug 2020 I have been suffering with debilitating neurological symptoms that cause cognitive impairment, vertigo, nausea, confusion and much more on a daily basis. I haven't been able to drive since Nov 2020. It all started when I began to see my therapist and dug up 6 pages of my trauma timeline. We are currently working with emdr which is helping. I just want my life back!! I feel completely stuck and helpless! I feel like a shell of the women I used to be 💔
I tried creating an account on your Neuro cycle app. However, there is a bug on the create an account login page so I was unable to move forward 😥

Way too late for me. My life from a 3 yr old to now has been nothing but physical & mental abuse from my father through family, wife & child. I was completely numb through the Covid, didn’t even bother me. Had a counselor & after our session was done she told her office everything about me. I was also friends with the medical Dr & the whole staff. But I’m a fighter & will continue to fight until the Good Lord calls me home.

Breaking away from co dependency needs to lead to interdependency as opposed to independence. All humans have a need to be in relationship and people they can depend on. Independence kind of suggests that people don't need each other. Whereas interdependence suggests that one has healthy boundaries but is able to apply that in relation to others.

Where do we find community to practice new skills new responses?
So many do not have access to appropriate therapy.
I am not sold in one on one therapy-as you can’t practice the ‘skills’ we now understand.
We need group or community to practice with others who too are aware of the pathophysiology of trauma.

Thank you so much Dr. Leaf. I had an interesting childhood. Parents divorced when I was 4. Never had an relationship with my mother and grew up with a verbal abusing father. I've done really good in school, loved doing activities and loved learning so performed academically really good. The problem I find now is at the age of 29 in the workplace, I can see that I am very insecure. So I addressed my identity a few months ago. To figure that out. And to start to believe in myself. But it seems I still struggle in my position at work. I do have communication issues woth colleagues as well. I keep quiet. But I try to stand up for myself. Not sure how I really can solve this situation.

Write down all your good qualities, achievenents , etc. Read them over a couple of days so that it is in memory.
      Why are you God's best?
Then make a list of your boundaries & where people you feel are taking you for granted. ( you may also want to ask yourself why tbey do so)
Focus on your own power & God's power in you.
Stand up / just speak yur mind politely when people cross tbose boundaries. Have no fear of what if you did speak up.
You will feel empowered. Trust me.
      Dress well- neat power clothes
      It works.
If they dislike you speaking up at tbe job, you may be asked to leave, is tbis your fear?
Always keep in mind tbat nature hates vacuums, so you wud most definitely get a job of your liking if you think positively. :).
Pray daily, read Holy Scriptures daily. Tbey are powerful in guidance direction, stopping wrong deeds( so you dont later live in regret), & give hope (which is imp)..
I read one small page of tbe Bible daily ( book of proverbs, sirach are fun interesting educational reading to start with, besides of course tbe Gospels which r imp)
You will do well. You sound like a genuine human being. Trust in yourself & His higher power.
Also try learning sometbing new but keep a time deadline for acomplishing it. That way your focus wont be on yur office too. (What we focus on tends to expand). Tbis way you will learn new skills, sewing/ painting/ pottery/ new language,/ even get a book or research online on increasing communication skills etc.
Your past was absolutely not in your control. Neither your parent's behaviours.
Their behaviours were probably tbeir reason for divorce, but you were birthed into tnis world only to overcome & possible be a ray if hope for otber kids of divorced parents. Cos only if a oerson who has gone tbru hell of some kind can be better understanding ,an empath of anotber with similar issues. Ever Meditated on what is your life purpose.?
      Just trust God blindly!!
      All the best.

Dr. Leaf I recently watched the films ‘wisdom of trauma’ and ‘the work’.
Both spoke of lifelong, generational significant trauma that highlighted so much of what many have experienced. The work especially gave much grace for incarcerated folks that have been forgotten and condemned.
With the rise to an epidemic level of anxiety mental health disorders, inside and out of the church, do we as believers of Christ hold some responsibility in speaking up about this?

    John 3:4-6
Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”
Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
    Romans 10:13
For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
    Acts 2:38
And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
    Ask and you shall receive!
    Acts 1:8
