I have both and they are night and day. I drive the GR as much as I can and sort of feel like I have blue balls if I have to drive the WRX. (Wife and I share)
The lag on the infotainment in the WRX is an annoyance, but another thing they need to address is the glare. In my Si I can’t see any reflections in the screen even if I try to!
in this class the Subaru has the biggest engine, 2.4 L Turbo, but way less HP as the competitiors. Subaru is always many years behind if it comes to engine tecnology and unfortunately they want to much money for that older tec.
Only watched 5 seconds and this is already my favorite video of the year so far lol Edit: Watched the whole video now lol I personally side with the WRX because the interior and comfort is way better. Plus the WRX makes way more power with much fewer mods. If its Stock WRX vs Stock GRC, then I agree with you 100%.
I hear you! The old STI was really good. I just don't see how a $32k WRX is pretty much the same in performance to the $46k WRX. The competition has got really good and maybe Subaru doesn't realize that
The GRC is like an EVO X, STi, and the original Mazda 3 hatchback had a feisty little offspring. GRC for the Win, but the STi AWD would still be king if it was still in production… but with the F/R LSD’s, the driveline disconnect w/ manual handbrake actuation, and the adjustable “center diff” The GRC has the AWD edge!
Yes specifically to this car. But I did mention the exact numbers each car makes. I was probably just saying 40 since I just filmed the WRX against the Type-R prior
These are never ever going to be really fast like Supercars, newsflash not every WRX sold was a STi. Instead, what we have are a choice between a hatchback or a 4 door sedan. If for you, hatchbacks are too small, SUVs are too tall heavy, can't fit the mother in law in the 2 door coupe, then you're looking for a 4 door sedan. GR Camry would have been nice; otherwise the WRX with AWD ticks all the boxes.
Yeah but the point of a $46k WRX tS is to be the top level WRX with performance in mind. If you aren't into performance just get a more basic WRX for $37k. But at $46k it competes with cars that are a lot faster and handle better like the GR Corolla, Civic Type-R and Golf R. So the tS doesn't make too much sense. This trim at this price should be an STI with the power and handling to compete.

GRC is a lot of fun for sure!
Nice review
Glad you liked it!
Good job. Love ur comparos
Glad you like them!
295 lb of torque for the 25 gr model
Yeah a nice upgrade in power over this 2023 I drove in the clips. We have some track laps in a 2025

Yeah it lags so many times especially when you first start it up and try to get the climate going. Big pain and angles poorly

Subaru engine is likely understressed with the low boost levels, especially compared to the GR.
Yeah this really should have been an STI. I don't think Subaru realizes how good the competition is now!
The WRX is easily modded and tuned. My 22 WRX had 20 pounds of boost with a dyno tested 360 hp/404 tq. The crank figures would be much higher.
So underpowered, and yeah you need to void the warranty so it's not pitifully slow!!😂
@@joelritenour6751 mods and octane?

Oh nice! Fun cars to check out!
Cute little cars . Perfect for teen girls or a guy on a budget
Ugh! I keep rooting for that WRX but Subaru seems so confused on what they're trying to deliver to their customers. Maybe next year Subaru.....

Maybe never quite honestly!! Lol
Subaru needs to make a one off modernized 22B coupe
Yeah maybe one day!
@BrosFOURRSpeed they have nothing exciting in their line up
GR easily 😂
It's a really fun car! Even the base for $38k is a blast!
100000%

Yeah Subaru needs an STI to complete in the mid $40k range. GRC was a blast to drive!
You keep saying the wrx is 40 hp down, when its actually only 29 hp down. Just a small correction for the sake of accuracy

I want the tS with the GR Powertrain and variabel AWD system 😀. Thanks 👍
Yeah that'd be cool!
