Kintaro was born in December 2018.
Momotaro and Gentaro's reaction to the addition of a small baby to the family was completely different.
Gentaro has a strong desire for his mother's affection rather than his interest in Kintaro.
So Gentaro was trying to get Genki's attention more than usual.
Momotaro is interested in Kintaro, but quietly watches over him without trying to touch him.
⚠️ ⭐️ Due to the spread of coronavirus(COVID-19) infection, Kyoto City Zoo will be closed again from August 23rd to September 12th today.
The closed period may be extended depending on the situation.

⭐️モモタロウ Momotaro ♂(2000/7/3)
momotaro was born at Ueno zoo in Tokyo on jul.3,2000 and came to our zoo on Oct.18,2010.
He is beautiful and handsome ,the silverback of our troop.
He is a little timid,and scared of new things.
He sometimes shows lovely behaviors that melt our hearts.
He is making efforts to be a good dad for his two sons.
⭐️ゲンキ Genki ♀(1986/6/24)
Genki was born at our zoo on Jun,24,1986.
After mating with several males without a pregnancy she found her perfect partner Momotaro.
Now she is a loving and caring mom for her two sons.
She sometimes behaves boldly,yet she can also be sensitive.
Genki has a cute face with shining eyes.
⭐️ゲンタロウ Gentaro ♂(2011/12/21))
Gentaro was born at our zoo on Dec.21,2011,as Momotaro and Genki's first son.
Unfortunately Genki didn't have enough milk,so he was nursed by keepers for his first 10.5 months.
Now he loves his mom,and his face really looks like her.
He also loves people .
Everyone immediately agrees that he is a very adorable boy.
⭐️キンタロウ Kintaro ♂(2018/12/19)
Kintaro was born at our zoo on Dec.19,2018.
He has big bright eyes and long eyebrows.
He is growing fine ,being loved by his parents and brother.
He love to play by himself,with his father.
He is still small, but smart and strong-willed.
His cute appearance and behavior attract everyone's interest.

Gentaro was just like many human children, not understanding why his mum suddenly has no time to play with him. He went from being jealous of his little brother to being the best big brother.

Too bad. Older siblings have to deal with it. Human children can help take care of the baby but these gorillas are not humans. Genii just couldn’t put her baby in Gentaro’s arms and expect him to be nice. He wasn’t and used to drag that poor baby over rocks,slamming him into walls.
I LOVE this Gorilla family❤️ MoMo is a sweet gorilla deep down inside, He loves and yearns to be touched sometimes. I love to see him show affection and play with his sons. Gentaro is funny, he wants attention any way that he can get it, even if he has to hit and run. He is sometimes a big baby and throws jealous temper tantrum😅 He really loves being near his dad MoMo and loves his little brother Kintaro😚 Kintaro is ADORABLE he always makes me laugh. He loves his whole family and wants to play with them all🥰 Genki is the sweetest mother in the world. She loves her family and always keep an eye out for her baby, to make sure that he is safe and unharmed😍😍. Kintaro always feels safe when he is near her. She really loves to eat😁❤️❤️❤️

Poor momo lol he just wants to see his new son. He even tries to be sneaky about it. Hilarious watching a giant silverback try to be nonchalant. It’s sweet how fascinated he was with kintaro until mama finally started letting them play together.

Genki's parenting has always melted me. No one could ever say she wasn't a superb mom. I know Gentaro is just seeking attention but he drives me crazy. A part of me wishes they would have removed him a while so Genki wouldn't have to always be on high alert and rest.

I've always loved this video of when Kinny was born and big brother Gentaro throws straw on Genki. You can see her understanding and patience with him by smiling and holding his hand. There is great love there for her children. Remember that Gentaro had his momma all to himself for 7 years or so. It's reasonable that Gentaro would be jealous from time to time. I cannot wait for the day when things get back to normal and once again Gentaro and Kintaro are chasing one another. I hope that Genki keeps eating and stays healthy for her family. Keep getting strong Momotaro. Your family needs you! ❤

I'm incredibly impressed with mom! Between her age and it only being her 2nd baby, her patience is remarkable! Some mom's will attack their own babies to get them away from the new one. I love watching her pat the baby too. This family is awesome

Oh my goodness! We watch Gentaro almost daily and yet, I never realized we were watching him go from a small child to the young future great silverback he is today.
Cute littke Kintaro, hair all sticking up. Genki is THE best. Gentaro is so jealous but mama still loves him. Momo is very inquisitive. I miss them all. Hope this closure flies by fast and they are all well mid-September.
I'd forgotten how fascinated Momotaro was with his new son. It was lovely to watch him trying to get close though he knew Genki would stay a safe distance. Meanwhile Gentaro would like to sit right in Genki's lap.
