Under the 'you break it / you fix it' theorem, it's a good thing your mechanically inclined friend broke it. Imagine trying to guide the Loeper through this procedure??
Your buddy's right....do a few door panels and you can do ALL door panels. I bet most techs, nowadays, would scratch their heads at a simple "crank" style window (classic muscle car?) with no attaching screw ("What the hell is THAT?"). Human progress is GREAT! Great vid.
You should go fix Rob Ferreti’s continuously broken door release mechanisms to prove that DIY Ferrari maintenance is better than paying the dealer tax!
Weirdly, the same happened on my 1995 Fiat coupe (Europe only) and the repair was nearly identical, cable, lock, almost everything! Also built by Pininfarina, so I suppose it’s understandable. Amazing for a car valued around €2500!
Normal Guy Supercar Just finished watching! Wow he did a really good job. Were yall able to open the door from the inside? Or did he just have to pull really hard on the outside to get it open? I tried opening the door from inside again and this time the lock made a clicking sound about 5 times in a row. Sounded like the door was trying to unlock or something
Thank you very much for the video, I’ve been getting in my car from the passenger side for almost 6 months 😂🤣😂. And thank you for letting all of us get rid of the fear to work on our EXPENSIVE CARS like if it was a Toyota “LOL” Could you please recommend a place to purchase the parts to do this work without having to go to the Dealership 🙏😜. Also; I don’t live to far from you (Houston), maybe you could couch me do the work😁🙏😂
In all of the thousands of door cables and lock actuators I've replaced, I've never seen a cable rust to the point of seizing. I'd have had some choice words after pulling that sumbitch out and finding that nonsense lol
Ironically, it’s the door cable, that’s used very little compared to the driver’s side. It’s seems Ferrari charges a premium but uses inferior parts. Thumbs up for German steel.🇨🇦

Haha Loeper would have just paid someone to fix it. Lol

Yeah they just take patience
If you don't have a horseshoe clip remover or even know what to look for yes lol
Great video Dan.... you guys have lots of patience....😁😁😁😁
Thank you
In this episode Todd Packer from The Office repairs a Ferrari door latch.
Lol
sgav8r fucking Todd packer
Some of the best content on TH-cam, sir! Any way you could cover how to replace a completely rusted out floorpan?
You may want to head over to Fred Flinstones channel
I'd need a car with a rusted or floor pan first
You should go fix Rob Ferreti’s continuously broken door release mechanisms to prove that DIY Ferrari maintenance is better than paying the dealer tax!
Lol that would be funny
He’s such a normal supercar guy 😉
Haha yes

Yeah these pull cables need to be made of stainless.
Thanks for the video my 360 did the same thing nice it helped
Yeah it's the same part
The doors opening or closing on my Porsche are the last things I have to worry about. Just don't let the battery die.
Modern cars are a pain when the battery dies
Yes! Im gonna watch this later. I haven’t had time still to mess with driver side..
Yeah that may help

No it actually opened from the outside but then would not shut
Good job Andy! Is Andy a professional auto mechanic?
Ted Shirai I went to tech school to do it, but it’s not my career.
@@andrewhiestand4917 Thanks andy!
I very like you this work
Common trouble in 360s also, I wonder if the "exact" same problem or different culprit in the 360?
It's the same part

Ricambi America has them
Thank you again 👍
Hey Andy! Come on down on vacation and we’ll put you to work fixing Ferraris!!
Tim Purcell that kind of was part of my vacation.... lol
Andrew Hiestand - it was good to meet you and I appreciate the help!!’
Lol that was his cost for the room and board.
Normal Guy Supercar that was a bargain then! Letting me drive it was more than adequate payment!!!
Nice!! Great job!!
Thank you

Yeah, it was disappointing to see that.
Exact same issue happened on my 13 Dodge Viper...I guess it's the common Fiat Chrysler ownership experience, LOL.
Lol probably the same part in some cases.
Who makes the tweeters for the sound system on the Ferrari
I'm not sure, but I think they have different options from the factory.
Good one ! 👍
Thanks

In this case for sure stainless would have been a simple and easy solution to make it more durable.
I need a job please help
Italian cars: nice to see, nice to drive not so nice to own.
Eh they're still nice to own
Why hasn't Ferrari been able to engineer a reliable door closing/opening and locking/unlocking mechanism?
New ones are
To be fair a lot of these cars are 10+ years old
Whats up Dan, wanna race?
Uh maybe
Glad I didn't go with the ferrari. Like pretty much every car I've owned has never ever did this.
U break u buy
Or at least fix
Hi sir my name rehan from Pakistan my work car lock maker
VW door panels... always break something when removing this looked rather tame
All those annoying clips and stuff
Toyota's from a collision repair standpoint are the easiest out of all models
..and then the other one broke lol.
The next day. :)
How/HOW Does Ferrari even back then get away with this CHEAP BS = ing a Costly Repair for a Already Expensive Vehicle??!!
No idea
The motor is the only nice part of a Ferrari.
I'd have to disagree
@@normalguysupercar, what else is made well?
Most of the car.
