Just wanna say that these guides recently have been absolutely firing. Such high quality content and yet so underrated. Would love be able to ski with you sometime soon. Keep up the good work!
Great video!! Very informative . I am here at Whistler for the first time on a family vacation. There are 6 of us ages 10 to 68. We hiked up to Flute Bowl and dropped in at Flute Shoulder. We had a great time and I felt confident after watching your guide. Thanks!!
You're recent guides have been unreal dude, keep it up! May I suggest adding some timestamp or whatever it is that show each section of the video. I was gonna send this to my dad to check out some lines but he can't really afford a whole 22 min video but he would know how to skip to the lines and your descriptions. Not only is this some quality entertainment but this is pretty much the only detailed and knowledgeable videos of the great skiing at whistler on YT.
Hey Willem, Thanks for all positivity! TH-cam includes time stamps in some of my videos but it usually takes the algorithm time and I can't add them manually. Let your dad know that I've included time-stamps in the description below so he can easily skip to the Flute Bowl Main, North and Lesser Flute Maps. I'll be posting a blog post with all of the Flute maps as well. If you haven't checked out the riseandalpine.com website give it a look. I've got all my whistler guides and maps in writing on the website! It's easier for someone to consume with a busy schedule. Cheers!!
Love it there and completely agree, I'm about to shred some east coast ice and enjoy the outdoors. I sharpen my edges every time I go lately, skiing a glacier beats couch surfing any day!
Great as usual. The gift of this video is the specificity in where and how to find the locations and lines. Similar videos say 'ya we're here at such and such Spanky's line...' meanwhile I need to know exactly how to find it! Thank you!
I’m going to be visiting Whistler for the first time the second week of May. Enjoying your vids and hoping there’s a lot of quality terrain still open at that time
looking down on Cheakamus lake is unreal, so many epic spots in Whistler, haven't skied the the back of Blackcomb or Whistler yet, or even Creekside but can't wait .. keep up tha vids ! burnt pancakes n views haha
I can't comment on how those pancakes taste. I'm sure they hit the spot after that hike. But the background views were better than anything I've ever seen on any cooking show. I'll be there between March 5-12. I 🙏for some freshies. Your positive energy in these videos regardless of conditions puts the stoke meter off the charts. 👍
Glad you love the wacky! Still unsure why I had to cook pancakes... Tasty tho. If you like this check out the time I cooked a salmon on Blackcomb th-cam.com/video/B4HgVsVok5I/w-d-xo.html
Absolutely astounding!! Now, first..........is there an easier way for me to get to those pancakes?? B-w-a-h-a-h-a-h-a!! I should call myself "Rise & Recline"! (That hike you took was such a great combo of Heaven and Horror (the snow conditions). Amazing! And I don't know exactly WHY-----but your antics in that chorus of "I LOVE it but I HATE it"---followed by that ancient black and white sequence of that guy saying the same thing (where did THAT come from?)----for some reason just cracked me up so completely, that I had to press 'pause' while I practically spit my coffee out! Your crazy sense of humor is SO MUCH like my family's was, that it's like sitting back at the old breakfast table with my Dad (sadly long deceased), who shared that type of bizarre humor exactly like yours! LOLOLOL!! Anyway! That scenery around the "Flute' area and the close-up views of all those chutes,, etc. were a real treat for me,, since my sister's and my 2-week 'Rainfest' at Whistler, 'way-back-when, could have been held in a rain-forest for all we could tell! when WE went up to admire the scenery! Such a beautiful environment. However----I do have to say----that the sight and sound of your skis as they 'skipped' down the mountain---arrggh---left something to be desired. (Like snow!) Last thought.........I wondered how long it took the Whistler/Blackcomb detective squad to complete a chalk outline of the victim of that 'Hot Sauce Serial Slayer', who left such a scary, bloody body outline to mark the slaughter of some poor unsuspecting skier, who'd almost made it to the top!TH-cam
Enjoying your vids after my first trip to Whistler recently. I have to disagree re: booting vs skinning though. I decided to pull the skins out after a few years rather than hiking up. I’m an older bloke and a group of much younger and presumably fitter dudes unclipped and headed up. After faffing about a bit with my skins which hadn’t been adjusted for my new skis, I rounded them up pretty quickly and was up the top taking pics and having a snack when they arrived. Either way, a brilliant lap.
Whistler is in need of some snow!!! Flute shoulder looks like a good run on a pow day - can you show us again when it’s better? :) Awesome video! 8 month old pancake mix must have been interesting haha! No hot sauce on them tho? 😏 I do find it so crazy how the village height of the place I’m going in France, is higher than the Flute summit!! Are the nightclubs open again in Canada yet?
As much as I love hot sauce I couldn't help but save the integrity of my pancakes. Nightclubs have finally opened with a mask-on while dancing policy. This will be interesting 😂 😂 😂 😂
Hi! I'm coming to Whistler on Saturday for my first time ever, is there any chance you could show me around the mountain. I'm 14 and have pretty much wanted to come to Whistler my whole life!
Hey @Fo0tyheadd4 @blackcombgabu is right. Totally depends on the year. If you're in the market for POW then January or March have the most snowfall on average.
I hope u realize your videos 2-3 years down the road will contribute to every secret pow stash on Whistler and Blackcomb to be even more tracked out....just to get views and clicks...you gotta ask yourself is it worth it.Kook
This is a mountain survival guide channel now
1 Man. 1 Box Of Pancake Mix. How many days can he survive?

Grew up skiing whistler and go back almost once a year. Pls do not stop the content these videos are nothing short of perfection
Thank you!

Thanks for the tip @Willem von Schilling
Love it there and completely agree, I'm about to shred some east coast ice and enjoy the outdoors. I sharpen my edges every time I go lately, skiing a glacier beats couch surfing any day!
Great call sharpening those edges everyday. I've been lazy the last few times and have totally regretted it!
So fun!
Loving the videos and the vibes bro ! So helpful for those who dont know the mountain as well and want to explore more of what Whistler is all about !
Thanks Kalvin. Happy I can help you enjoy the mountain more!
Heading to Whistler Sunday from the states!! Can’t wait!! Hopefully see you on the mountain!
Unreal! Have fun up there Justin!

Heading to whistler in a few weeks...these videos have been getting me pumped! Not sure I'll be making this hike but you never know
Unreal! If you have a clear day and a bit of fresh snow the hike is sooo worth it!!!
@@riseandalpine Made the hike yesterday and smashed it. Knew where I was going thanks to this lol
Wow those views! I'll have to check this bowl(probably the easier blue run side) out in April, hopefully still has snow! Thanks!
Awesome! We are totally in need of some snow.
bruh your channel is seriously underrated, awesome content
Thanks H S! Stoked you're digging it. Gonna keep the good times rolling!
I’m going to be visiting Whistler for the first time the second week of May. Enjoying your vids and hoping there’s a lot of quality terrain still open at that time
The snow base is looking great. There should be loads of terrain for you to enjoy in May!
looking down on Cheakamus lake is unreal, so many epic spots in Whistler, haven't skied the the back of Blackcomb or Whistler yet, or even Creekside but can't wait .. keep up tha vids ! burnt pancakes n views haha
Cheakamus lake view is so sureal. You can't beat the Whistler views!! I should have titled the video 'Burnt Pancakes n' views' 😂😂😂
Great video hahaha, always love the ski and cooks
Any recommendations for what I should put on the Rise & Alpine summit menu next?
i know im late but this video is sick! you seem like a dope ass dude and ive been addicted to the vids!
Thanks JDogg! Glad to hear you're diggin the vids.
you give us so many good options to choose from Thank you !!! like your work :)
Thanks Mélanie!!! I really appreciate the support:) Have fun on the hill!

Pancakes 8/10. Views 20/10.
Happy you'll be visiting for some turns!
You are totally wack. Love the humor. Pancake episode came from left field.
Keep it up great fun.

Thanks for the carve and cook episode. I'm sure the fish could have used a dollop of hot sauce. Oppps you've got to do it again.

Braah you doing a good job! i like your videos
Thx Jimmy!

THE HOT SAUCE SERIAL SLAYER 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 - You always crack me up
I saw your split hot sauce that day! This video explained what was happened to the trail being red. XD
No way!!! Thats hilarious.
What were you thinking when you first saw it @Charlie Chang?
I thought it was blood but the color is quite strange for blood

... How to go Ice fishing on PTC... Hmmmm...??
nicey roates!

It isn't waffles at Crystal Hut, but good enough! NOM NOM NOM NOM

It's always an adventure!
RIP Aunt Jemima 😢; Maple syrup and Hockey eyy
Jemima will be missed. Best damn (non maple syrup) I ever had.
I am coming over in 3 weeks can you fix some more snow for me?
I'll get back to my regular snow voodoo regimen!
do you need a ski pass to ski tour there?
Nope - you can climb up via singing pass!
Btw where do u find that in depth map?
FATMAP
For the price they get for a lift ticket there should be some CATS there taking people up to the top.
Totally! For the price of the lift ticket we should get a heli once a month to the spearhead glacier too :)
Is this accessible with regular pass?
Yep! As long as it's been avalanche controlled it's available for everyone to hike up.
@@riseandalpine appreciate the reply! See you on the slopes this week(I hope)
THE FLOW IS RAGING
Do you ship to south america brother?
It cannot be tamed!
I think so ya ❤️❤️
How much feet of snow there
Base is currently approx 8.2 feet
@@riseandalpine ok
Please bring ice skates next time!
Skates would have been way easier hahaha!
nothing like a canadian drinking maple syrup
Our bodies are 76% maple syrup!
Why are you encouraging people to go up flute without a transceiver.
It's completely avalanche controlled just like Spanky's Ladder, the Peak Chair, or Harmony! No need for a transceiver unless you go off the back side.

Are you really a "local" when you sleep in your van at a walmart parking lot in squamish? lol
My mother always told me not to talk to strangers, but always trust a man who sleeps in the back of his pickup truck...
@@riseandalpine haha I like that ! see ya opening day!
