I was on that tour as well and took some silent cine film and some tape recordings both of which I still have somewhere. I remeber telling my Grandfather on the Sunday afternoon that the previous day I had been to Edinburgh and back ( I did the full tour). He wa a bit suprised!! Thanks ever so much for uploading this.
I've just been scanning my old negatives and unexpectedly found one of this tour at Peterborough. It never got developed as a print so its the first time I have seen it in 37 years ! Loved the footage going through Stockton with North Shore box and all the semaphores.
I was on this too, also joined at Leeds, to Dunbar?? and back was it. I well remember the fog at Leeds and the melancholy tune that someone played on the horn as it arrived, and the echo through the fog. I have a sound tape of this somewhere, does anyone else have a video of it??Hard to beleive its nearly 30 years ago................
@theamateurbasher Sorry to bring politics into it but we think it was the National Front (NF). My dad was a campaigner against them and also used the equipment to film them when they marched.........
