Lhikan watched his team die over the years and the ones that he had left betrayed him, I don’t think we take him for as tragic of a character as he truly is
Imagine being Lhikan. First having to suffer the betrayals of Tuyet and Nidhiki, his own fellow toa. Then being the last Toa Mangai as his other brothers and sisters had been killed one by one at the hands of Eliminator. Then finding, that his entire destiny was to pass his power on to a new toa team. Yet, he still continued on being a hero and not giving up, doing his duty to serve Mata Nui and the Matoran up until his death.
As I grew up, thinking of his character and his story does get me teary eyed. He was a saint, the only one who did the right thing... and paid with his life.
Likhan and his musical theme never fail to make me cry or get a knot on my throat whenever I watch the movie. When I was little I thought... little of it, but as a grown up... he just rings differently. He was gone just like that.
The diagram showing the Toa Stones represents the different elements of each Toa in the team. It also seemed unnecessary to go deeper into the individual characters since those characters will be explored in future videos.
Yeah. I recently came back to Bionicle and started rewatching movies and accidentaly I found some info about how big the lore is. I never knew there could be more than 6 Toa. I was surprised there was a team of eleven and an army of 300 Toa. I guess these news are all from the comic books. I must check them out.
you know what, thinking about it, Lhikan's sacrifice was the one thing to force the Toa Metru to stop living in the shadow of the Toa Mangai, and instead start working as their own individual team!
Hopefully one day we can get faithfully animated CGI of these bionicle stories. (not reboots) I feel a whole generations of kids could use the 3 virtues as a guide for life
I thought the sheer imbalance of 2 toas of water and 4 toas of ice was insane, but then you mentioned the ARMY OF 300 TOAS! LIKE WTF! If there is literally a spartan army of toas, where the hell did they all go?
@@HORRIOR1 the Toa-Dark Hunter War was already ongoing at the time so Toa were already being sent to the island to defend from the Dark Hunters. Metru Nui is a vital island that needed to be protected so having that many Toa was necessary to really push back the Dark Hunters.
In reality, “Mangai” means “mouth” in Maōri, and the volcano being named as such was, alongside Mount Ihu (“nose”), an early hint at the Great Spirit Robot.
Great video. I was just playing Bionicle Heroes and read Nidhiki's description in-game, I completely overlooked that part of the lore. Now I'm obsessed with these videos. Thanks for making them.
Very well structured video with the important points cesicntly and cohesevely linked together! It also never ceases to amaze me how much lore there is for this series!
If they ever reboot or remaster the series and add chapters to the G1 story, Lhikan must have one of the most tragic backstories. It must've grieved and crushed him hearing of all his fallen Toa.
I know. First, Tuyet betrayed the team. Second, Nidhiki betrayed the team. Then; if those two betrayals weren't bad enough, Naho and the rest of the team was killed by eliminator, leaving only the Toa Mangai of Earth's Kanohi Kakama remaining. Later, Nidhiki would die by Teridax's hand and Lhikan would sacrifice himself. Leaving Tuyet the only member alive.
300 toa 😲 wowwwwww here I thought 11 toa alot 300 is an overkill well it would be if the toa killed there opponents seriously this is why the toa mangai were losing even though they had 10 toas they were still losing lol but still to see those 300 toa's but fans are a imaginary bunch so they can make 300 toa quickly and I think they alright made all 300 toas that were in the war
The Toa that formed the Toa Mangai originally came from different islands after Turaga Dume called for help when the Kanohi Dragon attacked Metru Nui. It was not until after the Kanohi Dragon was tamed when the Toa Mangai decided to stay in Metru Nui. They then resided in different sections of Metru Nui.
*Nidhiki:* This time, your farewell will be forever, brother.
*Toa Lhikan:* You lost the right to call me brother long ago!

I was hoping you would elaborate more on the toa members of the Mangai, such as the fact there were four toa of ice and one of plantlife.

In general, the real composition of the team is not known on different sites, different compositions of toa, not counting Likan, Nidiki, Tayet, Naho.
There's so much lore I'm glad you're doing this project.

The production quality on this is fantastic, its great to see some new high quality Bionicle content.

They left Metru Nui after the defeat of the Dark Hunters and went back to their islands elsewhere.
@@amajanuitales Yeah but how did they all manage to gather in the same spot in this specific scenario, but never again?

@Bionick Toa at that point, a majority of the Toa became Turaga so there weren't too many active Toa.

Lhikan was pretty much Captain America but with silver surfers way of travel.
