This is such a great feature of Opal and really well explained too…Isn’t another tutorial on YT that explains this. So in theory I could turn my uh-e Diva into a Moog DFAM…..that alone is worth getting Opal..
I’ve been looking at Opal for a few months now and a lot of TH-cam channels had put me off, I can say that yours has changed my mind and I will be getting it very soon…. Thanks for a quick and helpful tutorial…👍
This is helpful :) Where is the button "Open Editor"? Seems missing. I have opened Opal Ctl (same as you, not the standalone one) but missing the option to open it for bigfer scale and better view.
Ha yes I am, thankyou 😊 I often listen back to my own voice and think I sound like Gary Neville ffs 😂 Yes, originally from Wythenshawe but now living in Sunny North Wales
- I set it up as you helpfully explained but honestly i found the results next to useless considering the amazing patterns that already come with Phoscyon, it might just be me but I've not got anything useful out of Opal.
Hey I get you. Phoscyon might have been a bad example for me to use and at the end of the day the parameter lock setup isn't for everyone. It's a matter of taste.
Hi, good question. I've never practised this, but in principle, it would work. You can map the 10 controls of Opal Ctl to anything within Ableton that is midi mappable. Give it a go and let us know how you go on 👍
Just to add further. If you don't want to send notes, just don't enter any and let the sequencer run. You can then parameter lock the 10 controllers to anything in Live. Hope this makes sense

@jimmywheelo - I've got a Roland TB-03 and I just got the new Arturia Acid V so I'm drowning in Acid lines at the moment 🙃
@@pauldablue love the tb03. Nothing else comes quite as close for me.
Do you know how to map the opal parameters to a lfo?
How do you save sequences?
They are saved within your Ableton live set when you save as usual
❤+
can I use opal for triggering only the effects and not the note?

I'm going to try it, thanks!!
Would be amazing if they increased the steps to 32
