Full disclosure here, John was my favourite Beatle but this song is a beautiful tribute to the love of his life, Linda. She died way too young of course but their love was so strong. Joe Garza, I totally agree with you...they are very young but I'm surprised they didn't get that he was singing this song to Linda, not his child. I had the pleasure of seeing Paul McCartney 12 yrs ago, outdoor concert, 30,000/40,0000 people or more and when he sang " My love" , you could have heard a pin drop. Funny thing about Linda. I always thought she was just riding on the wings (pardon that sad pun) of McCartney but when looked back on her time with Paul, I found she was such a big factor in his life and in the music after the Beatles. Thanks for that lil tidbit. I never knew that. I just thought it was a song dedicated to her and wishy washy but still good. Wings was a great group-loved their music! Paul McCartney: in my opinion the most talented person ever to sing, to write and to perform.
Vocal genius who does what nobody else can with his voice. Range, tone, pitch, style variety is endless, he can make it raspy, growl, scream, Croon, rock it, he can make his voice do what ever is necessary with ease. The most natural vocalist in the world.
As a songwriter, any subject is writeable. He can have several melodies in a 2 and a half minute song and maintain relevance and context like few can. Genres he creates as if he has direct contact with omniscient omnipotence. The king of melody.
Lyrical genius, melodic genius, all round musician. The man stands head and shoulders above the rest.

"Maybe I'm Amazed" is a song written by Paul McCartney, that was first released on his 1970 debut solo album. He wrote this beautiful song to his late wife Linda, since he credited her for helping him through those difficult times of his life. Specially, after the break-up of the Beatles. You can hear in this song the passion and the love he felt for his wife, Linda. 👏

Paul was severely depressed when the Beatles broke up. He’d been trying like heck to keep them together. It was the only job he’d ever known. He felt his career was over. He dove into drinking and would barely get out of bed. His wife, Linda, convinced him he could still write songs and continue his career. He formed his next band, Wings, with her, and went on to a super successful career post-Beatles, becoming the most successful recording artist of all time. This song is about how Linda saved him.

Well, I don’t think so. McCartney released this solo album and trumped John Lennon by releasing a single statement about leaving the Beatles. John actually wanted to leave before Paul, and Paul convinced him not to for the moment and then he did this. This ruined their relationship for a long time. You need to cite a source for your statements, because I have never read this in any Beatles biography. This sounds like a McCartney Fan Club version of events.

Sorry guys, this song is about how much he loved his wife, Linda Eastman. She was an amazing celebrity photographer when they met and she was asked to photograph the Beatles, which she really didn't want to do, but her boss told her she had to. The upshot of that was meeting Paul and becoming the keyboard player in his band and his wife.

Paul is the best - check out the Beatles’ song, “Oh Darling” for more amazing Paul vocals. Paul sings lots of lead vocals with the Beatles and sings all the high harmonies. In “Maybe I’m Amazed”, Paul is singing about his wife, Linda, who got him through the Beatles’ break up. Check out Paul’s solo song, “My Love” also written about Linda.

For "Oh Darling" he came in to the studio every day for several weeks to get his voice hoarse enough to nail the song the way he wanted it. Helter Skelter is also considered one of the first hard rock songs.

Every human needs to do a big old Beatles deep dive. They were so good. They are not my favorite band ever, but they are undeniably the greatest rock band ever, until them, and without them, who knows if we ever even would have made it to here, with modern rock and what came after them. Maybe things would be different. Maybe we would be listening to Big Band instead. They were that big of a deal.

You kinda had to be there. Their music in comparison to other artists in the 60's and how they progressed in the 7 or 8 years that the Beatles played together was phenomenal. I get that comparing them to groups that came after can make them seem less than they were but they were the soundtrack to my childhood. Their experimental influence is still talked about by professional musicians.

I think they were right, and if we truly could change the past we should change that suffering--we wouldn''t know what we were missing in not having rock and roll. What would the world be like without having had that huge tragedy, and not having had that small wonderful change for the better that was the happiness of The Beatles.

McCartney uses this voice in The Beatles' Oh! Darlin'. Lennon gets dirt in his voice in Come Together and in Twist and Shout. They all had the ability to sing dirty from the years they played in the seedy district of Hamburg, Germany, before they became famous, and then later when they opened on tour for Little Richard. As you slip down this slippery slope, you begin to understand these guys were incredibly artists and almost every song from Rubber Soul on sounds different from every other song--Give I am the Walrus or Strawberry Fields a try. But don't (I'm warning you) do NOT listen to the second half of Abbey Road. You'll never be the same again.

That came out when I was 15. I will never forget it. My parents had a 17 foot travel trailer parked on the street and they let me sleep in it by myself all summer instead of sharing my room with my younger annoying brother. I took my record player out to the trailer, ran an extension cord out to it and played this album to fall asleep to over and over. It would still be playing in the morning when I woke up. Back in those times, if you moved the control arm all the way over, it would keep going back to the beginning of the side of the album that was on the turn table. Memories.
