This is so heartbreaking how can you keep unidentified death bodies for more than a year on a public path and you’re saying you have no where to put them it’s unacceptable if the bodies are not claimed why not give them a respectful burial than pack them on the streets 😢 Belai Gambia

It's shocking to learn that multiple bodies have been left unburied and stored on a public path for over a decade. This is truly concerning, and the country official is right to call for the matter to be resolved. The situation has become a public nuisance due to the strong odor, and it poses a significant health hazard. The bodies/persons should be given a respectful burial as soon as possible. This is a very sad situation that needs to be addressed promptly.

How can you move on to Banjul when Serekunda is one big chaotic mess up. It's worse there now than before, because it seems like you have walked away from this huge undertaking,so now the vendors/barrow sellers are everywhere. It's far too crowded and not even one inch of space to walk. This place needs some kind of order.Surely this can't be allowed to operate in this fashion. The future plans for Serekunda is non existent.

@@IsaManu154 I know it is very unfortunate.I can't believe this is happening right before our own very eyes..As Gambians we need to speak up when we see something that is not right and goes against our values and morals so we can all help bring awareness and by enlightening our people of the importance of rational thinking and making sensible critical decisions where it matters most and hopefully would not affect people's lives but would instead preserve the satiety of our Nation..We are so good at turning a blind eye 👁 and a deaf ear to not want to face the truth or stand up for what is right. By speaking collectively and addressing certain issues of what is going on might just do us all good instead of sweeping everything under the carpet where no one wants to speak of the big elephant🐘 in the room and in this case, is this mysterious chamber outside the hospital in the middle of the hot sun..I am very confused and baffled ..No excuse for this totally unacceptable.

I don't know the quality of the research done but research has been done showing most of the accidents are due to negligence of drivers and the second main reason is mechanical factors. The only reference I can see to vendors anywhere in the research is that that they should be educated because sometimes they obstruct vehicles alighting passengers and turning at certain points. They've had recommendations as a consequence of the research but are the recommendations being carried out ? Not that I know of.

How can you ask the police to take the dead body to there homes if they have space because you don’t have space in the hospital. You get what you vote for. Vote for educated, honest and hardworking Gambians to lead the nation. Stop voting along ethnic and religious lines enough already. There was a time when this country was administered quite well. Those civil servants spoke proper English and were all educated and were hardworking.

It’s not this guy‘s responsibility to create space for the dead buddies If the hospital is tight, the government should find a solution to expand the hospital or create more space for them. If each unknown body was announced on our tv and radio stations at the time of death and families haven't came forward to recieve their loved one it's safe to assume that they're probably foreigner/migrants who have no one here
whatever the case is it's disheartening and if the cause of death is not murder/unnatural (something that has to be investigated) i don't see why keep them for up to a month even
Also that's definitely not a place to keep bodies awaiting their burial

I am sure these Dead Bodies are not Gambian Nationals. I remember how Ex President Adama Barrow made his military arrested Ghanaian Nationals passing through Gambia to other country and killed then. Only One person survived and Came to tell the Story. Ghanaian President through Diplomatic Mission tried to get the bodies back but only one was sent to Ghana. So of course they have killed others again I Guess. Such wickedness 😡

This needed to be shared. No one knows if the decease were disease carriers or consumed toxins, and COVID. The environmental implications that this will have on citizens is yet to be determined. The operations manager is irresponsible and disrespectful.
I know cremation is not culturally acceptable, but why can't they be buried in the container? 5-10 years is a long time to be in an unventialated hot shipping container.
It's inhumane to store human remains in this manner and on a public street. If the hospital cannot manage handling the remains, perhaps a solicitation bid for a funeral home should be a major government discussion. This is terrible for the community and the deceased. We deserve so much more as a people.
