Genuine question, HOW ??? Like how, I don't mean to be rude, but, the app seems kinda sketchy ngl I checked out their YT channel & it only has 3 videos & no comments at ALL &...1 subscriber Even the app store, there's barely any reviews, like...less than 10 lol
I kind of prefer buying from collectors over dedicated Re-sellers. Because it is much easier to get a fair deal from a fellow collector from my experience. From my own experience you always get somekind of discount after a quick conversation where you bond with your fellows. That doesn't happen with regular re-sellers. Like I got a CiB Parasite Eve on the last thing I attended. Didn't have to pay more than about 30 of your USD for it, which was a joy. Only got it that cheap because the man was a fellow collector
Haven't watched this video yet but I will later tonight. About to film something but I wanted to stop in and let you know how much I enjoy the PSPortal shorts you've been doing. I'm planning to do a review on it myself soon. :)
my general rule to tell people when im buying from a collector or if a friend is selling something they loved - usually (in my experience) they sell it high price because of the sentiment attached. i just tell them to keep it at that rate because they're not ready to let it go
aww, my wife and I are watchers of this channel so I would have bought a shirt in person. Also you guys need an online store to sell your left over items and promote it on youtube. I always try to price things ¾ under the value so people feel like they are getting a good deal. Sometimes in desperation I will price half the value of price-charting because I want it sold as quickly as possible rather than waiting for the right person to come along. I feel like it is better to receive the money to fund the next game on my collection list. But everyone does things differently and I respect you guys. Glad you guys had fun
I'm a collector first and seller second. I rented a table a couple times at an expo and I always sold under going prices because I want stuff to sell quick so i have money to buy more games for my collection. I remember at one I had Chrono Triger on SNES, I priced it at $100 (at the time a loose cart sold for $120) A young man wanted it so bad but he only had $70 to spend. I didn't know if I should because he might just be trying to get it cheaper so he can sell it. But after I talked to him and I asked "Prove to me your a collector? Show me a pic of your collection on your phone and I'll give it to you for $70" He showed me his small collection and I made him promise he'll play the game and beat it and he was so happy to get this game. I believe collectors look out for each other compared to those who just resell.
Great to see the gaming community, seeing riff , mort and gabo .It's funny seeing you guys on the other side of the table. Great video, lots of cool stuff
The auction was really something to watch in person. Kind of disappointed that not all the items on the auction table was auctioned off. Anyway, welcome to Van Nuys California. Hoping that you guys visit again next time they have Bits N Beer event.
I vended for the first time last week and I learned quite a bit. I had some luck but I also ended up buying quite a bit. I didn’t price out anything beforehand and I learned that turned some people off pretty quickly from buying anything because I had to pull out my phone and look things up. Usually did 5-15 dollars cheaper than price charting or ebay solds but I could tell some people were there just to find a deal. The store owner that hosted the event ended up buying a ton of stuff from me. Had a blast though just hanging out with the community and talking games
I absolutely love vending at these kind of shows. I've been doing them up in Ontario, Canada for close to a decade now as a vendor & as a customer. It's some of the only chances I get to see some of the people I've done deals with over the years. Whether its a massive show with hundreds of vendors, or smaller shows with less than 30 vendors, they all have their own appeal to the customers and get different types of vendors out. Glad that it looks like you guys had fun.
Yall are just great everytime i watch your videos i feel comfortable like idk how to explain but like yalls vibe is great i love this community and im glad you guys are part of it 💖
I once also attended a convention of sorts as reseller instead of buyer. Like you; to sell off doubles and stuff. I noticed my prices were too low because before the public entered, other resellers swarmed my booth and bought almost half of it. I think collectors make bad resellers is because we like to pay fair prices and therefor ask fair prices as well. But there are always exceptions of course. P.S. this was in the EU, not the US.
Im a collector mainly and at flea markets and conventions the very rare items that are very underpriced are gone before it opens. Its worth it to buy a spot so you can just drop a box of something you want to sell on your table and walk around buying from other sellers. That's how I get a lot of the things I really want. Or find things other people want and buy what I wanted with the proceeds after I sell it.
Final Fantasy 2 boxed!! Thats probably one of my favorite things in my collection!! Mort turned me onto Goodiez. I really haven't bought or sold anything on it yet but I love window shopping lol
I’m selling a portion of my retro collection this summer @ SEGE 2024 and it’s going to be hard resisting on buying while I’m there. I have a few things I’d like to find, but ultimately I must resist buying as the whole purpose of selling is to help finance a new roof for our home. That said, I’m sure I’ll make some mistakes because like you said, I’m not used to being on that side of the table.
It’s crazy you all are saying thank you to the gaming community. If only you knew your impact, along with other creators, on the rest of our lives! We owe you a thank you.
They hold events like this near me all the time. I definitely prefer them. Good deals, fun day of hunting, free admission, no parking fees, no traveling. Win win as a collector. Went to one this weekend. My friend and I spent a few hours there. Left super hungry and the first thing that came to mind was the brewery that held the last event. I never would have known about the place otherwise. Great advertising for a local business.

Cool to see you two on sales side. I struggle with naming prices and bartering personally. On another note, have you two been out to the Book Off in Mesa yet? It's the Japanese second hand retro store. They just opened one there recently on Dobson and Main. It's in the same parking lot as H Mart. Not sure about the prices but it was cool to see one here. Great video! ✌
I was wondering if you have any tips for selling empty cases for ds and 3ds? I have a couple of the Pokemon games and Alien Chaos 3d. I lost the games in a move but I still have the cases.

@@JRPGLife oh man lol! I legit thought you were going to end up with an injury from those kids jumping for the Pokémon cards or whatever it was. Probably not the best way to give something away....noted, haha
I have tons of dupes (there are games I may even have up to 8 times) due to lots, or me being quite nitpicky with states and trying to get better copies constantly, but I rarely struggle reselling them, I always try to make a bit of profit, even if small, but also, I always sell online, I would not be surprised if I would accept bad deals in person heh. Also, I'm normally quite busy with work and family, so I rarely check on all the dupes I have and rarely list stuff around.
I try to find anything below cib and than charge cib if they can go lower i can, but it would still be above than normal. or i can just wait for the right enviornment, long term investment is also good.
