if i recall correctly, mickey mania had one of those miserable run-killing elevator sections partway through. the idea of actually pulling the levels directly from the cartoons always seemed very cool to me.
I remember the timeless adventures of Mickey mouse. Mickey mania was spread to new horizons. Mickey saved the world with operation thunderbolt. Today we lowered the flags for our fallen hero!
The actual names was Uncharted Waters: New Horizons. Uncharted Waters was the name of the series while New Horizons is the game's name. Its one of my favorite Koei games because I love games that just give me a ship or fleet of ships and cut me loose. Unfortunately the only later games in the series that came west were online games. I heard a rumor the fourth main series game was coming west but apparently not. I usually play as the British Privateer (I'm part British and I've always adored the concept of Privateers) or the Spanish Pirate though I don't like Operation Thunderbolt as much as the T2 Arcade game port but its still one of my favorite SNES lightgun type games
Mickey Mania is better on Sega CD. Theres a legit excuse for loading times, the usual CD audio and Mickey talks and introduces level names. I think the animation is a little better too. It goes for $70 + complete though, so its a little up there.
UW2 New Horizons is a great game. I wasted many hours of my life playing it. (I also spent a lot of time playing uncharted waters online when that came out years later)
