I’m so glad I found you! Welcome back! I thoroughly enjoyed your video and recommendations. I’ll go watch some of your previous videos now, and check-out your blog. I liked and subscribed. I looooove thrillers, mysteries, and the rare light horror (but very rarely on the light horror. I’m 99% thriller/mystery). So great to have another quality book reviewer to look forward to videos from now.

I was going to say, I prefer thrillers in movie format, but you also have Dark Academia recs, which I love! I just finished A Great and Terrible Beauty, it was a bit too dark for me, with the human sacrifice element, etc. Louise Millar is a brilliant British thriller writer I discovered 10 years ago when I was into this genre. Her stories are family based and often deal with anxiety/mental health issues, which makes them very interesting. Accidents Happen and the Play Date are really good. I just love Gothic stories around this time of year: Historical, Gothic reads, preferably set/written in the Victorian era. I would HIGHLY recommend Michelle Griep's series based on Gothic classics, such as Frankenstein. They are beautifully written with gently gothic themes - nothing frightening. Man of Shadow and Mist and Lost in Darkness are my favourites from her 🙂
Oh my goooosh thank you so much for the recs! I need to check out Louise Millar. She sounds right up my alley! I haven’t read a ton of gothic books but the ones I have read are so good. Have you read Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia? It’s fantastic!
I have read and loved most of these!

I don't know why but I love reading thrillers in the summer and mysteries in the fall. Great list!

I also enjoy Lucy Foley! I think of her as a modern day Agatha Christie. At least atmospherically
Totally agree. She’s so much fun!
Same! ☺
