    The antique wax really brings out the Chrysnbon wood texture. Also the colors come out better than using just acrylic paint. You do have a way of making the most simple little thing look like the real thing with all your painting techniques, they very helpful. Cute stuff! Looking forward to the "lots of projects" and the large Harry Potter build!

    I love the happy accidents you had with the table and the rooster, you know what I mean, when it doesn't go to plan but accidentally ends up working out even better. I do like how you did the little cabinet. Out of laziness I guess, I probably would have stopped with the first colour paint, but you went the extra mile and kept adding more layers of colour to bring out the detail and age, and I really like that. It inspires me to do better with my minis. Eagerly anticipating your next video now!

    The small box with drawers is a "spice cabinet" They were used in the 1800's. Of course it was always important to carefully store spices at that time and has been so for thousands of years. They were extremely expensive coming from far away places like India. I have an antique spice cabinet to this day in my kitchen. Old expired spices like, cinnamon sticks, sage leaves, or bay leaves, whole peppercorns and whole nutmeg find their way there. The smell from that old cabinet is wonderful....🤗

    • @queencityminis
      @queencityminis  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's cool! Do the spices sit directly in the drawers? Or is there a liner?

    • @sharonjacobs5351
      @sharonjacobs5351 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@queencityminis Hi, .. 🤗..so nice to rec. a comment from you...💻..To answer your inquiry,...the spices always sat directly in the drawers with no liner. They traditionally hung on the wall to free up tiny work spaces. Coubters were yet to be invented.The oils etc permeated the wood and thus that wonderful smell. ..😌..At the holidays I pull out a drawer or two especially the cinnamon and nutmeg ones and the scent is definitely there when you walk by..🥧.. Such fun to watch people's reactions when they notice. My box has been in the family since 1861.. Lightly written in pencil on the back with the owners name. Ladies were proud to have one then as it was considered 'special' to own one.
      You do a wonderful job on your "decor"...🏡.. You've mentioned several times you take pictures..📸.. It'd be so interesting to know what kind. I made a Christmas town that I started many years ago, it's very primitive, no patterns, nothing even close to yours. (ie..I used match sticks for window frames) I even put an outhouse behind the house on the hill. ..😮..🏚️..(So funny!) I still find a tiny thing from time to time to add to it. Last year it was a tiny laser cut star for the top of the tree.🎄..Two years ago I played with my simple little camera and took pictures at what some would consider strange angles, ones you'd commonly not think about taking. A 'strangely' angled close up of the front of the church with the door and stairs. the doors are all decked out for the holidays. It appears like your walking into the church for holiday services..⛪.. I even came across a thumbnail bisque nativity for the side yard, at Walmart no less. I always keep my eye out for that little something, something. You just never know where you'll find one. Hallmark used to be one of those places for them ..🤷..as well as some good ideas to use. Another picture is a close up of the brick street running long ways instead of straight on with the shops running along side, a view you may have if you were walking down that little street. It makes me remember my childhood window shopping at the holidays. .🎁..I placed these photos on the front of folded cardstock and sent them as Christmas cards one year. ..📬..It was such fun to do,..☺️..I heard from several recipients that wanted to know "where" this town was .. LOL..😅.. I'v enjoyed your work immensely, they're true works of art..🏫🌳..I recently got turned on to the world of miniatures again after many years..⏳..I was dx'd with an autoimmune disease and needed a craft I liked that I could work on when I felt well enough. . Strangely enough one of your videos popped up on my feed. Long story short, you inspired my interest in the art. You're so open to sharing how you do these magical transformations.🎨🖌️... So many artists keep them secret. ...🤫... ( P.S....You'd mentioned on your 'old lab' .🔬..video you were open to your viewers suggestions ? Mine ?.🤷..One of the small metal industrial looking fans ?)..... Well,..if you'd excuse me I'v got one of your videos on pause...hee hee !..🤭.....Again, many thanks ..🏡

    I love that you gave the Antique Wax a try...the stand looks great with the black base and wood top..the wax just takes some practice and getting use to..so please don't get discouraged if you don't get the results your looking for in the beginning. I started with my diy crafts soo had lots of practice before applying it to miniatures. For the Chrysnbon kits it was just a trial thing and happened to work out..I use a testors model glue for those kits..In the beginning I wasn't sure what type of glue to use and saw a recommendation somewhere for the testors glue ..works really well takes a cple secs to take hold but it is a quick..strong and clear grip.
    I've been getting notices that you are going live..am I missing the lives or is it just something wacky going on?!?
    Anywho this kit is a fabulous kit..love all the pieces and I loved the white knobs! I'll have to catch up on the house you're working on...I have started the head of the old lady doll..I'll be working on her this week and hope to have the part up to share. "I went with the mistake" - made me giggle. Some kind of philosophy buried in there. Agree with the outcome. Love your aging techniques. How can I learn more about building things "to scale"? Is it as simple as saying that something if a foot tall is converted to 1/12 size it's 1" tall? Thank you for sharing your ideas, time and inspiration.

      Going along with mistakes is a big theme of mine when making minis! Lol
      th-cam.com/video/M_ooX1aXGFk/w-d-xo.html
      This video from Bentley House Minis explains scale really well.
      1:12 is just a foot equals 1", which is great. But you'll find lots of 1:12 miniatures are actually not true to scale. For example, commercially available canned food🥫 in "1:12" scale is 3/4", the equivalent of 9" tall in real life.
