This is pretty much what I did when I went through this, except I had the berry cat dream eater (long time, can't remember the name fluently) and when my team got almost taken out, I would bring that one out and just heal my team till full and then keep doing what was in the video till dead. Boom. Star each time. Its very abusing but very good way of getting it easy.

I wasted my entire day off trying to figure this game out and I think your explanation was the only helpful video out of the lot but I'll see tomorrow. Most of my mega flares were being voided by the enemies in the secret cup and now I know why... I haven't been using all 4 cards. I hope that does the trick because if it doesn't help then I'm good as done. Update: You literally helped me so much. I got the trophy. You earned yourself a subscriber, I was eating my head on my day off and I can sleep in peace knowing this dumb part of the platinum run is over.
WHAT THEY DON'T TELL YOU (the game itself) when u clash with the number as your opponent you can actually switch the cards to better match the set of they are asking for
- No it's damn blatant they do; They even put some enemies in a player-inaccessible state of Haste - But the thing which urks me the most, "The A.I. getting 1-Frame cancelation of attacks" , If a modern day fighting game allowed a bossfight to do that , the community of said fighting game would be denouncing the Dev team for YEARS ( & justifiably so). - If the A.I were at the Bare-Miminum forced to commit to EVERY ATTACK it makes Flick Rush would be tolerable.

I play only on 3DS, but I noticed that POWER SPOUT WORKS WELL TO, DOES LOTS OF DAMAGE WHEN USED RIGHT

UGH, the Final Cup final round is RNG Hell, EVEN WITH this strategy!!! I hate Flick Rush!!! WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?!?!?!

How do I go up a rank. I’m at 16 but I need to be at 17 to unlock the secret cup.
Make sure you've finished all the other cups before and have beaten the game.
