Great video as ever, I've been a subscriber for a little while now, but I'm still new to call and put options but really interested in getting my head round it. I understand the principle of call options which would reduce the profit of a trade (vs a direct purchase) because you've paid the premium to have the option to buy at a strike price by a given date. But I don't get the percentages that James quotes in the Coors example. How are the 23% on stock and 148% on calls calculated. I can't relate these percentages to any of the numbers shown and it's giving me a headache. Can anyone help me??? Thanks

That's not a percentage. That number represents the cash gain if the option were to hit the $40 strike price at expiration. Meaning at expiration, you would see a $1,665 gain. You can see the same tables using the OptionsProfitCalculator website

avg home price in the US is well above $300K today. I hope it did not come out wrong but that could be the sector most at risk for less appreciation going forward.

So if I understand options correct it's almost like two people making a bet.
Not options but I have PCT spac stock which dropped 40% yesterday. Hit by short sellers, looks like it was a scam. Fortunately it was less than 1% of portfolio. It was pumped on Hedgeye and looked legit. Can't trust anyone.
