DEFINITELY put the captions in English. They misunderstand the words hilariously. I love fencing coaches with accents. So much fun. I once had a Russian coach who wanted me to do an "epilunge." "Epilunge," I thought? "Like 'epilogue' or 'epi-pen'?" After some discussion I figured out he meant "Appel-lunge" (foot stomp-lunge.). The word "Appel" is accented on the second syllable: "ap-PEL." That's what confused me.
My dear friend. Thanks for your comments. Foreigner coaches to working in different countries it is hard but good fun too! Sometimes, in the home language, it has no appropriate words for specific fencing actions. This creates many times funny word combination. But this should not be a problem. In the past, an Italian fencing master Italo Santelli worked in Hungary. His Italian/ Hungarian expressions had become slogans in the Hungarian fencing life! Of course, I am more than happy if you send me corrections what you think should have been right. My best regards, Laszlo
Fantastic insight. Thank you. Totally agree about Chris and his use of second intention (was caught many times)
