DIY Sabre fencing practice with Laszlo (with captions)
Laszlo demonstrated the basic sabre exercise that sabre fencer can practice by themselves without coach. The exercises are composed by simple attack, parry reposte and feint attack. These are good for fencers who not only start to fence but also good for fencers who want to develop handwork and footwork co-ordination and how to cut in different target correctly.
Fencing lesson by own work is also vital for fencers in order to improve the precision, correct their own mistake in footwork and handwork.
Laszlo emphasise that not only group work, 1 to 1 lesson, individual work also plays an important part of fencing improvement.

Hi Laszlo. This format is excellent. Very good balance of visual/verbal presentation. I know it takes a lot of energy. To produce these but I hope there are more on the way. Graham - VP British Academy of Fencing.

Hi Graham. Thanks for your message. I am glad you like my video. I have received a message and request from Adam to make a seminar next year for coaches and masters of the British Fencing Academy. I feel to be honoured to make it and happy to do it. I have already informed him about the topics I would like to talk and making demonstration. Please discuss with Adam about it and let me know if you are happy with this. My best regards Laszlo

Master Laszlo must have a lot of experience and I'm pretty sure he knows that feeling when you receive a toddler who has no idea about fencing and you see him get the first medal or being part of the National Team.

It's kinda hilarious how much fencing is about NOT doing certain movements, about restraining and controlling oneself. I think that taking this fact into consideration could make movie swordfight scenes much better. This is somewhat reason why some classic samurai movies have nice fightscenes, which show scared and uncontrolled begginners vs calm, controlled and precise advanced fencer.

Thank you sir. I am teaching lightsaber according to fencing principles and often have to convince people to attack the deep targets when an unguarded hand is clearly available. These drills should really help. (I work to edit/publish old Hungarian and Austro-Hungarian manuals from pre-Borsody era. If you're still open to Q&A, how can we who don't get access to these programs understand the modern Hungarian theory? How has it changed since then? ) Thanks again. All these beginner/fundamentals videos are a godsend.

It would not be useful if we choose perfect fencer to demonstrate as the real life, the coach job is dealing with this kind of fencer most of the time. Lots of videos on you tube mainly choose the best performer but for us we try to choose the imperfect one and show how to help them :) Also this is the demonstration for the coach how to deal with the problem that fencers have. I hope you like it even though it is frustrating to watch :D
