That was no mistake Mike. I find taking time to talk with fellow collectors is more fun and important than the vinyl. You get more out of having a coffee and a chat with someone. You chose wisely
It’s an easily made mistake Mike! Don’t beat yourself up about it! Just next time you meet someone you know at a record fair and you have something in your hand, just say “hang on mate i’m just going to buy this” purchase it then have the coffee! Is that Kirsty Maccoll an original on virgin or a recent demon records copy? It’s just the demon ones sound a bit shit and hiss constantly through both sides!!!!
Hey Mike - The VC rules committee denies your request to terminate your membership 😁😁. You’re allowed one mistake per calendar year. Some great finds there, love record fairs. Cheers.
My mate Ticker who died last year used to do the record fair circuit, he once paid £15 for a bag of random singles and he said he was shaking and couldn't speak properly, in the bag was 2 rare grout singles one of which he sold for £1200, the chap obviously had no idea what he had, my mate was collecting right to the end coz apparently whoever has the most stuff when they die...wins 😜
I'm, like many now it seems and this end part of life and selling all those records we bought back then. Prices people are paying is just crazy, so I've been selling all my vinyl. Be like the generation before 50's Rock N roll and will drop when we've all gone but what great tunes. The stuff I've sold I paid less money for my 1st house.

I love record shows as much for the social interactions as with buying actual records. Johnny Moped! I love any Peel Sessions too but only have a Siouxsie one. Sound Of Disaster is an excellent band name! I was thinking of Kristy McCall the other day with the passing of Shane McGowan. Lots of good stuff Mike! ✌️

I thought you were going to become a member of the "didn't check record carefully enough, got it home and it was too warped to play" club. I have a friend that's a member of that club. 😔
The records i did not pick up at record fairs, tend to stick in the memory more than the lucky finds. I try to think it was'nt meant to be, and someone else is probably enjoying it. That Robert Plant record i looked at and put back, later checking it can sell for big money.
You cant let these things eat away at you Mike, let it go. A couple of years ago I had the chance to buy 3 albums for £10 from a collection just brought into the charity shop (cash only). I didn't have the cash on me so another guy just behind me walked away with three Magazine albums for a tenner!! I lay awake at night for a while but decided hey its only records right? PS another claim to fame, I once sat next to Sandie Shaw ; )

Kirsty's version of days I find a bit bland. The album afterwards electric landlady was more interesting to me. Can't say I've heard Faust tapes either but it's developed a cult status due to the price partly. That discussion the other week on Thursday night re: quadrophenia vs. pet sounds was excellent to be a part of. I missed last night as was busy. Hi Martin, the Leeds record fair is in the same part of the market where all the coffee bars are situated, so it was quite tempting. Electric Landlady is a great album that I have on cd. I think the discussions on the live stream are getting better and better. I saw your rabbit hole video but I was a bit confused about what I was supposed to do. We did discuss it on Thursday, which made it a little clearer so I'll see if I can come up with an entry. Cheers Mike

See what you come up with anyway I wish people would use their imaginations a bit more 😜 About 4 ish years ago some of older VC met up in Leeds at the record fair in an old church (me, Hedley, James Griffiths, John 6" pianist few others) I can't recall other guy that was local to you but I walked straight past him (he was standing outside) and proceeded to start digging leaving him standing in the rain.......😂

Welcome to the put it back and come and buy it later club,I've done it many a time Mike,claim to have learnt my lesson and then bloody do it again !!!! Love The Addicts,only own one of their albums and very rarely see any vinyl by them . I keep meaning to buy the Jubilee soundtrack but never do. Only ever seen the film once and my beloved Toyah is in it. John Cooper Clarke is touring next year I believe and I think my eldest lad is treating us to tickets to go and see him ??? Johnny Moped.....totally forgotten that name,a real blast from the past. I occasionally see Peel Sessions records but they're always going for silly buggers money. All the best 👍👍👍
