I really hope they put this into the production line for the year like they did with the 70th Anniversary Broadcaster! I have a production line 70th Anniversary Broadcaster and it’s the best guitar I’ve ever played!
My very first guitar was a 1954 Stratocaster my dad gave to me for Christmas, 1963. Even then it was relicked! Mine went out the back of my brother's station wagon early July 25, 1965 when we forgot to put up the tailgate window after a long drive and a drummer dump-off. I hate to even ask how much these things are. My serial number was in the plate and was 0517.
Fantastic. Most places have these with the 5-way switch and compound 7.25”-9.5” radius neck. It looks like Sweetwater is the only place that has a Custom Shop 1954 70th Anniversary either true 3-way switch and 7.25” radius neck.
Somehow I was able to get one with a non-compound radius. Just 7.25 all the way up, and it’s a 3-way switch. Sweetwater is the only place where I see those specs on a Custom Shop 70th Anniversary NOS 1954 Strat.
The Strat was basically Bill Carson's Signature guitar if we're honest. He did not want his name on it, feeling the finished product was beyond any one man's vision.
a green dish scrubber will 'matte' any gloss finish acid to clean cement , will age chrome black stain on the neck, wipe it, leaving the bit on the edges of the frets take a grinder the the body, to get the desired amount wear
Thanks guys like video, loved the Strat 🎸🎸🎸🇺🇲,I have 2 guitars one acoustic and other is electric but not a Strat, got to get me a Strat,my boy SRV RIP 🙏 kick ass on a few Strats,🎸🎸🎸🎸🇺🇲, ChiTown Sir Jose 😎🤘🎸🇺🇲
I'm surprised the white plastic parts don't have an aged tint, although they look good like that. I mean, a lot of current models have green pickguards and yellowed pots, just like my '86 Strat which is much less worn than those models.
I LOVE the Strat design. The look, playability and for some things, the sound. Many of my heroes played them. As I grow older I realize that I’m probably more attracted to the Gibson sound?
These are beautiful guitars, but I am sure the price (as usual) will be way out of most individuals reach and as always will be a limited run just for those who have money to burn. Good job Fender. But really? He doesn't know why the radius is 7.5 to 9.5. Anyone who has struggled with fret out knows this. IMO all guitars and re-issue guitars should have this radius. Soft V and 7.25-9.5 is my favorite Fender neck profile...nothing better
A lot of vintage guitars were compound like this, albeit unintentionally. When Fender did the 70th Anniversary Broadcaster they modeled it off an original 1950 specimen. They found it was compound roughly 7.25 to 9.5. I personally love this spec in fact all my CS guitars are compound radius.
Alarm over the 7.25 thing always makes me snigger. Had a custom build tele from LSL with this compound radius, and there is a very slight choked sound to bends, even when luthier set-up - a sound you can hear on a million classic guitar records. It’s a case of, do you like it? I don’t. Plenty of the greats did and do.

What song is in the playing 3 section? I know the melody but it's killing me please respond.
These 3 are great together.
Great job guys! The sunburst will never go out of style. Looks like I’m going shopping.
And its still the perfect shape. I have a les paul, SG’s teles, and a 335, a prs, but i always go back to my strats.

Great 'Lay Down Sally' solo, I like it!

Why aren’t the 3 of you vacationing in the Bahamas with all the guitars I have bought from y’all ?

Thanks for explaining radius.
I always feel that 90 % of watchers have no idea what it means. And every guitar review alway throw in the neck radius

‘57 Soft V 7.25-9.5 is my fav Fender neck profile. Are these C or Soft V?
It would be the "boat" neck, so neither. Different neck that year from others.

"And this was years before fat people" broke me lol. Very informative video and wonderful banter between you all, great job!

A soft V neck ist the best neck profile to play. I dont know why so many guitars have a C shape neck. A v Neck is so much more confortable.
We need a book review from the vintage guy
7.25"-9.5"....let the whining begin.

Something happens with these bleach white color plastics, pickguard, knobs… They should been reliced too
Agreed. They make them so why not use them.
60th anniversary had feature that were more exact imo. So, this is sadly not better imo
or like Mr Griswald ?
tie the body to the rear bumper and go for a drive
'do i yourself' relicing
