  • This was meant to be a quick video explaining why my VRX Cobra is so strong compared to out of the box, quick it is not🤦‍♂️ but I definitely explain to the best of my abilities how and why my car is so strong.
    Some of the parts and DIY mods I mention are not essential if you don't go too hard on your car's, I'm crazy so I need them🤪
    I did say I do not buy from Banggood or Ali Express but I found a few links for you guys!
    Complete upgrade kit for the VRX Cobra violence, looks very nice!

      You will have some fun with it, as you said they can be a bit of a pain but the mods definitely make them stronger but they are good cars to get in to making mods anyway👌
      A new servo should be on the list though and keep an eye on that e-clip on the steering assembly.

      I do want to apologise though if you mean I actually posted stuff to you, I'm terrible at remembering names😅
      The VRX can be temperamental(diff issues mainly) so please make sure to keep a ear out for any grinding noise and use VERY thick diff oil in the centre diff, that will prolong the life and prevent leaking👌

    Nice setup. The roller seems like a good place to start and install the electronics of choice. Thanks for sharing this awesome 1/8 scale buggy. 👍 There really isn't that many videos on this RC so it's great that you went over it so well.

    • @rccrazy
      @rccrazy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you and you are welcome!
      But just a warning as this is quite a old video now and my opinion on VRX cars have changed quite dramatically due to car issues.
      They are not the best car durability wise and they are not really 1/8, they are definitely normal 1/10 scale.
      So expensive to upgrade aswell😖
      But if you have already got one or really want this particular car then I HIGHLY recommend sticking to a super light weight setup, DEFINITELY 3s max, 4s eats ALL the parts on these cars and 3s can be risky for the diffs depending on if you jump or not.
      There are many much more capable and MUCH tougher cars for no too much more and you won't need spares or upgrades straight away.
      Sorry if this is a disappointment but I just trying to help, don't want anyone to waste as much as I have on these cars😕

    • @rccrazy
      @rccrazy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you very much👍
      I have made a few for mates but don't really sell them, they are hand made with a jigsaw so it's somewhat of a hassle.
      Honestly after a lot of using and upgrading these VRX cars I can say they are not the strongest when it comes to diffs and plastic parts, you upgrade one thing and everything else starts failing.
      I would suggest leaving it as stock as possible, don't jump it to hard and PLEASE try not to land with much throttle, diffs won't last long otherwise😕
      I had to stop used mine because after a while they all started blowing diffs as soon as I throttled and I couldn't find the issues.

    • @rccrazy
      @rccrazy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well no if you've already got all the important upgrades then that is fine but make sure you have a few spare diffs just incase and if you have upgraded the electronics I would suggest getting some spare driveshafts aswell, the front CVDs do tend to snap at the CVD part.
      Take your time and watch a few vids and you'll get it done👌
      If you are in Australia I could make you some parts but it may take a little time to get to them, my plate is overflowing at the moment😅
      If so you'd just have to email me your details or contact me on messenger, whatever is fine.

    • @rccrazy
      @rccrazy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well it sounds like you got all the right upgrades and spares you needed👌
      If you do decide to upgrade power try and stick with the same size motor as in dimensions to keep the build lightish but go lower kv and higher voltage or stick with you current voltage and get a higher kv motor.
      And you are welcome, I did start this channel to help in whatever way I can since i can't work so if making parts is what people need, with limitations obviously I do like to try😁

    I'm thinking about a Roller version Cobra. But the websites that I use only list the center diff and not the axle diffs. Does the center diff have the same internals as the axle diffs? My ZD Racing 1/8 truck uses the same diff in the center as in the axles......just need to change the big ring gear.

    • @rccrazy

      Sweet, didn't know there was rollers👌
      Yes all 3 diffs are the same except obviously the centre is the spur and the front and rear diffs have crowns/ring gears.
      Just be a little careful trying the ZD gears because HSP diffs to eye are the same as VRX, in actual fact the ring gears are slightly different sizes and aren't quite compatible, ZD gears will be the same as one of them but I wouldn't know witch one.

      I have personally broke so many parts, diffs especially😖

      Exactly!
      These and FTX are definitely a couple of the brands to steer clear of if you want decent quality and strength cars.
      Maverick is a better option.

    Did you have any issues with the front inner beadlock touching the toe linkage especially when turning? I got a set of louise beaclocked tyres and the beadlock was rubbing on the lower linkage. If these don't touch at all I wanna get a set

    • @rccrazy
      @rccrazy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No I never noticed anything rubbing, they were quite offset that's one reason I got them.
      I'm not sure were you would get them now but they are Remo Hobby monster truck wheels.
      Good luck mate👍

    Hi mate I'm just wondering if you know where I can get more of the drive shaft pins that are located on the wheel end of the shaft. Thanks

    • @rccrazy
      @rccrazy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No 100% sure, should be available at Banggood and Aliexpress but you should be able to use most 1/10 scale wheel pins.
      I'll get back to you if I can find the part or part number👍

      @@rccrazy ye nice, I'm beginning to notice that with the 1/8 and 1/10 scales, their heavy and break when they land bad, especially the cheaper end of the market.

    • @rccrazy
      @rccrazy  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Modern 1/8 scales are almost unbreakable for the average RC enthusiast, Arrma, Team Associated, Losi and so on have some insane cars!
      And you need to realise this Cobra is NOT 1/8 it's 1/10, every component on the car is 1/10, companies lie for sales all the time.
      But nothing is invincible, as you said, have a nasty bad landing the chances of damage increase.
      I been driving RCs for about 20 years and still have some insane crashes😅

      Good parenting😅
      The Maverick vehicle's are good for the price and good for beginners or general bashing so it's a good choice.
      I'm not personally a fan of the ball knuckle hubs with a tie bar holding the toe angle on the rear but I'm sure there are people that don't mind it.
