    This is the best How To video that I have seen on these type products. Great Job!

    Question: The B unit serves as the WIFI at the most distant point? I thought you would need some sort of access point at the B end, no??

    I'm not sure if you're running through a DAW or a digital audio workstation but if you are you really should add a compressor and a Desser. Find that frequency with a Desser that's squeaking it's almost like a whistle if you use one with a spectrum analyzer you'll see the graph shooting up every time that whistle happens that'll be the frequency area just drop it down a few DB much more pleasing to the ears. Or use a better mic. Picture looks great but the audio doesn't come close in quality to the video.

      Much appreciated for the advice! 👌 I’ll be honest but when it comes to sound quality I’ve always struggled!
      My set up is basically a Rode shotgun directional mic on a large boom pole connected to my DSLR.
      However in an attempt to improve the quality I have run the entire recording through an Adobe AI audio tool. See what you think (if you have time but no need to watch the whole video) Would appreciate your thoughts/advice! 💪

    Great video. Really great! It's possible to connect various devices such as laptops to the receiver without having to use an ethernet cable between those two devices, yes? I don't have an RJ45 socket on my Microsoft Surface tablet. Thanks. :)

      Yes, what you want is possible.
      You should use this set as an extender for your network.
      So, on the B side you need an accesspoint or a router to provide you a WIFI signal.
      Then it will work fine.

    Great video. I have my Cox modem/router combo in the basement and I would like to have wi-fi in my attached garage. Would this product work given that it is a "short " distance (same house) OR the walls and ceiling will prevent it from working since there is no way I can have the transmitter and receiver facing each other? I am just not sure what "major obstructions" entails. Thanks in advance

      If attached I would just run a cable or run a cable to were you can setup up an acces point. You will get better performance

    Great video, but I must be picky and point out that mega bytes and mega bits are very different things.

    Researched these and there may be a problem with changing the SSID password. Not confirmed, but changing the password reportedly prevents the units from working. It may be a problem with people not knowing how to do that correctly, however.

    So setting up to get WiFi inside the barn to a router is great.
    Now, my question is this: will my standby generator pick up the WiFi signal that is transmitted from the house to the barn?
    OR will I have to get a powerful router so the WiFi signal can make it outward from the interior of my metal barn?
    I have three solar powered WiFi security cameras and am looking for a solution to connect cameras and generator.
    So if anyone has any experience please jump in, TY.
    Hey I'm an old man and not a tech guy.

    I got them to pair successfully and connected my computer, but once I unplug the "B" unit and plug it in at my barn, it just flashes the channel number over and over and does not emit a Wifi network. Any advice on how to keep the units paired, but unplug the B unit and install it in my secondary location? Thanks!

      @mcphoney  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi there apologies for the late reply. So obviously I can’t see the set up but just to clarify are your transmitters high up and outside facing eachother?
      I can’t remember which video but I’m sure I remember seeing one where during his set up he had to go up and down his ladder to keep repositioning his “B” unit until he could pick up the best signal. (Standard thing not a negative or anything!) He had a laptop with him as well to see if it was working.
      But basically as long as they are in range with no major blockages, high up and facing eachother then it should technically just work. Let me know how you are getting on! 👌

    Hi mate, quick question do you know why I don’t get any internet at my receiver/slave unit at the bottom of my garden?

    • @mcphoney
      @mcphoney  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As long as there is no major obstacles, then technically it should work. It may need a bit of fine adjustment?
      I can’t remember exactly where but I’m sure I’ve seen a YT video where someone has a laptop in the garden with him whilst he sets his up/adjusts the receiver.
      Sorry I can’t be more precise but like I said technically it should work.
      So frustrating when it doesn’t just do it automatically!
      Have you changed the password in the settings btw? Someone commented on my video that they “heard” about issues when you change the password?
      But really as long as they are facing eachother and on a slight angle (think it’s 30 degrees works best) then you should have no trouble.
      Do apologise again for not having the precise answer!

    Hello please quick question. What if I want to use one of the eeeuv as my main router can that work?
    Say I want to get rid of my main router. To avoid so many devices

    • @mcphoney
      @mcphoney  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Technically yes...but I don't know how well it would work.
      This is a quote from another website....
      "Because both bridges and routers connect networks together, they can be interchangeable to a degree. A router could replace a bridge, connecting two networks. But it does not make sense to replace a router with a bridge because routers can forward non-local traffic and bridges will simply drop traffic for addresses not in their local tables."

    • @Knjukang
      @Knjukang 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mcphoney ok thanks a lot for replying. So from what I understand this bridge helps reduce traffic on the main router too?.. because I’d like to share my WiFi with my neighbors but I want them to connect on the bridge instead of the main router. I hope that won’t affect my connection speed.? If many people connect on the bridge. Instead of the main router

    Hello, I have friend wifi near my house, but inside my house i dont get his wifi signal but outside i get signal i want to buy router with detachable antenna and one antenna want to keep outside to catch wifi signal ,will it work?

    • @mcphoney
      @mcphoney  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Technically yes but it would depend on many factors. However if you physically connect the bridge to his router and then run the set up…then I suppose it should work. He would have to have 1 bridge in his house though, most probably on the roof facing your house.

    Hello I have a WiFi bridge that recently stopped emitting a WiFi signal is this common? Also is it possible to have one make of bridge connected to a repeater over WiFi of a different make

    • @mcphoney
      @mcphoney  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      To be honest it could just need a quick reboot/reset? As for using different models, technically it is possible and should work but it depends on whether the devices like to work together. Sometimes you ma have to alter settings etc because they don't automatically link up if that makes sense? Unfortunately you wont know until you try it. Sorry I couldn't be more precise!

    BEWARE !! Mine work fine in my bedroom at twenty feet, but when I set them up outside at 180 feet they don't work. Unobstructed line of sight and reasonably oriented. Very disappointing for the money I spent.

    • @mcphoney
      @mcphoney  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you dont mind me asking, do you get no signal at all or does the signal become weaker and weaker the closer you get to the 180ft mark? I know its meant to operate best with both boxes pointing at each other (Just incase you have it set up differently) however this video also may help? th-cam.com/video/6do9pl5XKcs/w-d-xo.html Hopefully you can get it sorted because 180ft should work fine!
