How to create zones in Palo Alto firewall | Default policy to allow traffic between zones

In this palo alto firewall training video we will learn how to create zones in Palo Alto firewall. We will configure three interfaces and add multiple devices in different zone. We will asses traffic between zones with default policy. Later on we will configure policy to allow communication from zone1 to zone2.

By default the action is allow for new policy? We created new policy for zone1 and zone2 and didn't specify action

Yes, if you create a new policy by default action will be allowed.

how to ping gateway? I tried to create policy with source: Zone1 and Destination Zone1 with IP of gateway and then commit. but unable to ping gateway. :(

Check if you have the same network ip assigned on machine

Confusion: how different subnets are communicating without any routing protocol? Zones have more priority over routing protocols? pls respond bcoz i'm having some confusions in my lab, thanku!

If they are directly connected, routing is not required
But if not, routing will be required
