Yes VR and VS are different. VR is just a separate routing instance While in VS complete firewall instance. Like more seperate firewalls. No additional physical connectivity is required to communicate in vr or vsys
Hello, Just wanted to ask can we do something like neighbor ship between Default and Router 1 so that if they will be part of different routers still we can communicate with them and there routes will be shared among each.
you need to check data sheet for which firewall support vsys and which one not Usually PA220, Pa-400, pa-800 series do not support multiple virtual system Its supported on 3200, 5200, PA5450, and PA-7000 series I hope it clears your query

If you want them to communicate you may set up static route in between them.
So paloalto firewall doesn't want routing to permit the packets?
It needs routing but not for directly connected networks
